Aurora is not bad very big up front and very physical. Monett was driving right before half and threw a pick close to the endzone. Another good drive before half stalled on a holding call. I felt we could have been up by more going into halftime. But Aurora is a good team and a big team and caused Monett issues up front. Now all that being said they have some players out and I am sure they feel a few breaks here and there and they could be up.
With 42 or maybe 27 seconds or whatever Aurora wanted to put on the clock at the end of the game, the dawgs were a mere inches from the goal line and 3rd down. On third down the snap goes bad and Monett sacks the QB to move the ball back to about the 7 or 8 yardline. On 4th down Monett put pressure on the QB as he rolled out to pass and he threw a pick to end the game. This game was very chippy.

Aurora also missed chances in the redzone twice and was able to drive into Monett territory several times. If you watch KSPRs newscast you,ll see what the Dawgs were upset about.It wasnt the time.QB Evans scored on 2nd down with 40 some sec left.The newscaster said as much and the replay shows him scoring.The ref either blew another inadvertant whistle or just choked.Remember that drive started on the dawgs 5 yd line .Both sides played hard.If it comes to fruition you may be a bit nervous in 5-6 weeks
Could be quite the showdown here in 2 weeks. Aurora gets the chance to play spoiler before the big finale the following week
I watched that video, that kid was close to the sideline...not sure how the TV guy can state he was in with absolute authority.

Couldn't tell because of how far away the video was....I wouldn't have been so absolute in my calling it a touchdown as the tv guy did...

Like I said originally both teams probable felt like they missed some chances in this game. You can play the should've would've could've on several plays on this game on both sides of the ball. Monett had several nice drives that they could not finish. They should have gone up by another score before halftime! And before Aurora's finally drive Monett had doubled up Aurora's yardage in the game so I think we moved the ball very effectively thru the game.
There was also an inadvertent or early whistle earlier in the game for Monett that had it not blown we have a bigger gain on a play. The officials were horrible for sure on both sides of the ball both teams have legitimate complaints on several calls, but it was your home game and your choice to pick a crew out of the Springfield association and not Joplin?
