Looking to compile unique and obscure information for trivia questions. Looking for anything Missouri high school sports related. Doesn't really matter the sport.

For instance...

In 1951 Ruth Harms played in back-to-back basketball games for her Schell HS team. First night she went for 85 pts. and followed it up with a 66 pt. performance the following game played the next day.

Anybody got anything?

I have one . . .

I was a well known player who lead the Plattsburg Tigers to a state championship game in 1992 playing center. Known for my ferocious cut blocking technique, I led the KCI in cut blocks in both 1992 (354) and 1993 (401). I was no slouch on blocking back either. There are many nose tackles from that era who trembled when they saw Plattsburg on the schedule. Who am I?

Ill give it some thought on MO HS trivia. I know I have some, just gotta find/recall it. But I know several posters on here that could give you trivia from their respective states high schools. There is a whole group of them. I think they are called the Doc Guys........

In 1930 Cameron football beat Chillicothe 6-0 with the winning touchdown in the final 1:30 of the game. This type of touchdown, while still legal, has not been scored against Chillicothe since this game. How was the touchdown scored?

Blocked FG and then ran back. Bob Carter loved that trivia question. :)

very good.- the newspaper of the day said the field goal was short, not blocked, and returned 95 yards for the score

Name the Missouri high school football players that have been named to the media All State team at three positions in the same year?

Your probably right that it was returned and not blocked.

I'm going to think about your other question... It's a good one! Do you know how many times that's happened?

What HS athletic program produced well known greats Danny LaRose and Bill Bradley?

I knew Bill Bradley went to Crystal City, but wasn't aware that LaRose did as well. LaRose was all Big 8 in 1958 and 1960. In looking back I'm not seeing that LaRose ever was selected for the All-State team.

What mid Missouri HS has produced a World Series Champion, a Super Bowl Champion, and an Olympic Champion and name the three athletes.

There have been two players to ever be 3 time all state football in same year (and they are from different schools)

Here's a basketball one: in 1970 this Sumner player became the first 7'0 player to be named all state. Name him.

yes, 1st and or 2nd team offense, defense and or special teams

FWIW...I have heard that Vianney HS also can make this same claim. I know they had Trent Green in football...and some mens volleyball player for the Olympics...not sure about the baseball player?

What former HS football stand-out won a gold medal in both shot and discuss in the para-olympics?

A quick google search of Vianney alums led me to Cliff Politte being the baseball player. He was on the '05 White Sox team. The VB player was Scott Touzinsky

During the 1975-1976 basketball season Gillis Leonard of Harrisonville would pull down (32) rebounds in a game against Clinton at the Clinton tournament. That might be a state record for individual rebounds in a game.

What team holds the record for most 2nd place finishes at the state football finals?

Name the only KC Interscholastic League school to win a MO HSFB title with a caveat. Name the caveat as well.

KC Southwest was co-champs in 1972 with Hazelwood.
Here is a comeback. That 1972 game was played at Francis Field. That stadium along with only one other football field in the world hold a unique distinction when it comes to football. What is it.

I see in 1972 KC Southwest and Hazlewood are both listed as champions due to a 6-6 tie. No OT back in the day?

I remember Camdenton and Marshall tied in a state title game in the 80s, I think that rule changed sometime in the 90s.

What single Missouri high school football game, played in regulation time (no OTs), set 3 state records and 2 national records?

HINT #1: One of the records witnessed a team scoring 75 points and still losing the game.

HINT #2: This record-setting game was played within the current decade - not one of those crazy, anything goes street brawling games of the 1920s and 1930s.
