That might be a stretch. What a truly unbelievable turnaround, especially without MPJ.
The team won 12 more games without the number 2 recruit in the country."Truly unbelievable," that is.
He had 0 to do with the play on the court this season. In other aspects of the program he had a tremendous impact.MPJ had an impact on the team whether he ever played or not.
Truth. Bad deal. I guess there's no real talk of lifting Smith's redshirt? I haven't heard, but haven't really paid attention either.Yes, Barnett really put Mizzou in a bad spot.
Here's hoping the Tigers have enough to play Friday! Sheesh. Bad break. Any chance they lift Smith's redshirt for the tourney??? If not...
Geist
MPJ
Puryear
Jontay
Tilmon
Nikko
Rau
That's a rough seven man (six scholarship players, with one playing at maybe 70%) rotation.
Don't forget about Kash. They have 7 scholarship guys and then Rau.
Idk man, they're just not very good when compared to other tournament teams right now. Having Barnett obviously shortens Rau's minutes, but you still have depth problems. When Geist, Nikko, and Brett Rau are playing a ton of minutes in an 8-man rotation, you're very easy to defend. None of those players possess the ability to provide much on the offensive end. If Robertson doesn't completely go bananas for a 10-minute stretch, they likely lose by 40. Losing CVL, Harris, and Phillips...and Barnett last night really hampered the way this team can play. It's a shame.FSU has recruited well the last few years. Just not a really exciting team like in years past. Not having Barnett likely cost them that game last night.
If Porter was playing at 60% he was crazy to be out there at all.No Barnett and porter playing at 60% hurts. Don’t have the bodies right now. Now, if both porters come back, and you add Ramey and Watson, then you’ve really got something good next year.
If grasshoppers had machine guns...I'm pretty positive they're both gone...But hopefully there will be enough left to compete. Getting Ramey would be a nice step.No Barnett and porter playing at 60% hurts. Don’t have the bodies right now. He's a late first rounder on draft boards. I'd say there's a very good chance of it.Is there an expectation for Jontay to go professional?

Do you think he could make a roster next year? Maybe he's better then I think or the league is worse. But he's so slow and weak I can't see him being able to do much anything at this point. In a couple years probably. But would he want to play in obscurity in the G-League, away from home, by himself, or stay in CoMo and be a star with his family and friends around? It would be one thing if he was from a poor family like some that go early but he likely doesn't want for many things. I don't get the feeling it's all about the money with them. He's a late first rounder on draft boards. I'd say there's a very good chance of it.
The crazy thing is the kid had a double double playing obviously with much less strength and quickness than he's used to and without the experience of a full year of competition at this level. How many players can do that? I agree he'll be better a year. It'll just depend on if he wants to go to work and live on the road or spend another year being a star at home. He's similar to Jotay in that respect but Michael would likely be playing on an NBA team and not the G-League.I'll agree with 3Rfan on this one. If he played @ 60% Porter Jr. needs new advice. Top level AAU basketball is a lot different then major college basketball. To be fair with Porter Jr. he never got the chance make adjustments after AAU basketball. Another year in college and 25 Lbs. would help Porter Jr. become a professional basketball player.
I think he'd absolutely be on a roster, especially with the expanded rosters and inactives now. But even if it were in the days of a 12 man roster, I still think he'd be on it. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I think nearly all of the 1st rounders are on rosters all year.Do you think he could make a roster next year? Maybe he's better then I think or the league is worse. He'll get a great portion of that between now and the start of next NBA season, if he does enter the draft. If not the weight, at least the strength. He obviously wasn't truly ready to play physically. 6 months of rehab and training will fix that.Another year in college and 25 Lbs. would help Porter Jr. become a professional basketball player.
Mizzou danced a waltz while others were dancing disco style.Should change the title to Mizzou danced
It was a truly unbelievable performance.Mizzou danced a waltz while others were dancing disco style.
