Mizzou is doing terrible in-state 2024 even with all the advantages they have this year.

If they cant dominate this year then they never will.

NIL laws in Missouri + the best Mizzou season in at least a decade yet still cant get the top guys in State.

Wingo 5 Stars going to Texas

TE 4 Stars from RayPec 6’4 235 going to Georgia

WR 4 Stars from CBC going to Ohio State

Tackle 6’8 290 4 stars from Rockhurst going to Michigan

Aneyas going to Notre Dame

DT 6’6 305 4 stars from Hazelwood Central going to Oregon.

Edge Rusher 6’5 240 4 stars from Glendale going to Tennessee

THIS Is the class that you compete in the SEC with. Our state rarely produces this many quality players period. Especially in the Trenches this year, this is SEC size. Mizzou has 1 commit in the top 15.

With all the advantages its just safe to say they’ll never get it done. We’ll just be good once a decade until we can lock down in-state.

All those guys were early commits is the only positive I can think of. So when they said yes, Mizzou hadn't put together this season yet. When those guys started getting courted Mizzou seemed to be on a completely different trajectory. A few of those could also still flip.

This...many of those were courted by other programs prior to this year. Unfortunately the 2025 class isnt as talented as this years. However with the portal programs like Mizzou can rebuild quickly without having to wait for highschool kids to mature. Drink said this is first time in his tenure they can pick and choose instead of recruit.

Missouri kids always fall for the glamour of the blue bloods then it seems like the end up transferring back or just becoming a number where ever they are.

Some may switch commits. It doesn't matter, with the portal, still got covid kids playing then your juco kids they can get players and some of these kids may not have been what they wanted.

Good point! In state recruiting will only get better if Mizzou can string a few seasons together like this one. Beating Ark and winning their bowl game on national TV on New Year's Day is vital to keep the enthusiasm high about Mizzou. Another bowl game blowout defeat would be devastating!

I can’t believe that haven’t hired you as a recruiter yet. Your knowledge and positivity towards Mizzou football would be enough to convince any of these coveted recruits to wear the Black & Gold

I dont agree that a bowl blowout would be devastating to mizzou recruiting or the program. Nobody really cares about exhibition games outside of the playoffs. You never really know after a month off which team us going to show up. Besides that the portal taketh after the regular season is over. The team you had in November may not be the team you have in December or January. Mizzou could lose the the last 2 games still finish in the top 25. Drink has the program going in the right direction at the moment.

True, but big difference between Top 25 and Top 10 for 4-5 star recruits.

As far as the portal taketh (and NLF draftees) from bowl teams rosters, the top tier teams have better replacements than teams like Mizzou. But yeah, it sucks when some stars sit out bowl games, but I don't blame them for not risking injury - it's a business.

Williams Nwaneri
Jostes Hafer James and Chandler
Then he went into FL and took some good ones.

Only reason they aren't ranked higher is due to 'only' having 15 commits.

Odumb wouldn't have gotten Burden or Nwaneri.

I just listed some of the guys I really wanted. This was a very good class for SEC type guys. Big Edge Rushers, Big OL who can move, a couple of great WRs, a physical special back like Aneyas I really wanted to clean up.

Some of these guys can flip though so Im still holding out.

Mizzou can also point to the fact they would have been in the CFP expansion if it were this year instead of next.

Im guessing that will be a selling point this offseason. The CBS crew were discussing that on a graphic prepared on the broadcast. Had Mizzou vs Bama if the playoffs were this year.

This is a possible starting lineup next year ( all Missouri prospects)

LT - Green
LG - Reichert
C - Tollison
RG - Wilson
RT - Membou
TE - Norfleet
WR - Burden
WR - Cooper
WR - Manning
RB - Roberts
QB - Cook
