Only 1 scholarship left if Brazile and Pinkett both come back. That has to go to a PG I would think. Just my opinion.good start.
Now he needs to sign about 8 more.
I'd say there will be far more than 1 available. Time for Millard Fillmore (or whatever his name is) and a few more of the stiffs to go packing. Too easy to overhaul a roster these days of the portal. Might as well take advantage.Only 1 scholarship left if Brazile and Pinkett both come back. That has to go to a PG I would think. 3 available right now. Brown, Brown, DeGRay, Willmore, Kita, Gordan, Jones, Coleman, Davis, and now Diarra are 10 of the 13 available. Easier said than done cleaning house if you do things the right way. I get it needs to be done and it may still. But that is the Mizzou right now. I would guess he would want a couple of point guards to come in for sure.I'd say there will be far more than 1 available. Who and from where?good start.

Judging by the crowds in the videos, he should feel right at home in Mizzou Arena.

I keed, I keed!!! Sorta. Man, the days of packed gyms for Juco games are over, huh? Yikes.
I hope he translates to a really good player at MU. I'd like to see them be relevant again. It's more fun when they're good. And gives me something else to watch when I tire of Cal's Cats dribbling around and shooting a guarded 16 footer.
I remember as a teen hitting MAC or 3R for a Saturday night game. Seemed like it was packed no matter the opponent. And if they played each other, get there early! Lot easier to call up the YouTube channel these days. I'm guilty of that myself...It's an odd bunch, for sure. Kim flopping was the death blow (granted, the Haith hire didn't help and probably lead to them having to hire Kim) of the program. Nothing suggested Cuonzo would be good, and he wasn't. At least with Gates, I think there's real reason to be hopeful. Also real reason to be frightened. Not much of a track record. But their last two with long track records as a D-1 HC didn't work out very well at all.The covid affected crowds in places that believe the earth is more than a couple thousand years old.
I wish the coach luck. Mizzou has a weird fanbase and it won't take much to 'run him'.
Norm ain't coming back.
I think the key now is to get a guy that can 1) get guys out of the portal that can play and 2) keep them once you get em.I remember as a teen hitting MAC or 3R for a Saturday night game. Today you're going to lose players every year. You have to be able to get some from the portal who can contribute immediately every year. That's going to be the only way to stay competitive now. It's too easy to transfer and players aren't interested in earning their playing time. If they don't get it now they're going somewhere else. Even if they do get it they many get a better NIL offer and hit the road. It's a whole different game in college sports today.I think the key now is to get a guy that can 1) get guys out of the portal that can play and 2) keep them once you get em.
We will see.
Doesn't matter the sport.
Great coaches tend to have the best players.
So true but so sad. College sports now are really just professional leagues. That's why I have pretty much limited myself to high school and small college venues where kids play mainly for the love of the game.Today you're going to lose players every year. Funny how that works, huh? Must be a coincidence.Great coaches tend to have the best players.
That's why I want some of these private school coaches to take a public school job in some podunk town so we can see just how good they really are.Funny how that works, huh? Must be a coincidence.
Or build a program that kids want to be at and does not want to leave. Sure you will lose players from the end of the bench, but the ones that comtribute want to be there and win.I think the key now is to get a guy that can 1) get guys out of the portal that can play and 2) keep them once you get em.
