It's no secret that men's basketball at Miz-Zou is not satisfactory and
major change is demanded and necessary.
A trusted inside source says that a plan is in place to dismiss
Kim Anderson at seasons end and replace him with Washington
Huskies head coach Lorenzo Romar and of course returning the
Porter family back to Columbia town.
Yes, we know that this has been previously rumored and this just
might be wishful thinking, but the plan is a start...

Do you really honestly believe Mizzou has any better options right now? At least he can recruit, which is Kim Anderson's biggest downfall. Half of college sports is about recruiting, the other half is coaching/developing players. Kim Anderson is a good coach but can't recruit, regardless of the problems at Mizzou right now. Alabama in football and Duke in basketball, for examples, aren't the powerhouses they are just biggest Nick Saban and Mike Kryzyzewski can coach. It's because they consistently have top 5 or even top 3 recruiting classes every year. Being successful at the college level is a combination of recruiting and coaching/developing players.

So we trade a guy who can coach but not recruit for a guy who can recruit but not coach? They will go with a mid-level guy with a proven track record and let him do his thing. Winthrop coach? UNC-Wilmington? Maybe even Wade at VCU (but he is young). I just do not think Romar is the answer that is all I am saying. Not trying to be condescending to the thread, just stating facts and asking questions.

I get what you're saying, but he's not a terrible coach either. You don't have a career that long at that level if you can't coach a lick, he's had some successful seasons. What I'm saying, Mizzou fans seriously need to be realistic. There will not be that many coaches, even mid major coaches who have had success, that will be interested in coming to Mizzou. There will be better offers for them, so if Mizzou happens to get "stuck " with Lorenzo Romar, I'm perfectly fine with that. Of course others will disagree and that's perfectly okay.

Washington has a potential #1 overall pick on their team (Fultz), yet they're 9-9 with losses to only two ranked teams. Imagine what Romar would do with Missouri's talent. I'll pass.

Isn't Romar under contract for 4 or 5 more years? This is a bad plan for Romar's future.

MIzzou is a dumpster fire.

My oldest went there, luckily, I got my other two to go to a good school. They really shot theirselves in the foot. Hope they close down. Embarrassment to Missouri.

Not saying they can't, because I'm certainly no Romar fan. But what names do you think are relevant? Please don't say Martin or Marshall.
Depend on how much money Mizzou will throw at a coach. I don't believe that if they were to he an established coach, paying him more than Odom will be an issue. It also really helps that Alden is not hiring our next coach. That said...
Call Will Wade and Chris Holtmann and make them say no.

Kelvin Sampson
Kevin Keatts
Dan Hurley
Matt McCall
Pat Kelsey

I think MU would be happy with any of those guys. And certainly almost all on the list would say yes, outside of Wade and Holtman (and possibly Hurley), but I don't think any of them would be a hard no. What I'm not sure of is, any of them other than Sampson is better than Romar. Granted, I'd rather have all of them. So in my book (for all that's worth), they're a better hire. Nearly all are gambles, but unless you go the established route most of them will be. I dig the way McCall's teams play. It'd be fun to see him get the gig.

How about Bobby Hurley? The last Duke hire at Mizzou didn't work out real well.

He just got to Arizona State. Doesn't make sense really for either party.

Quin Snyder gets a pretty bad rap because of how things ended. But he went to the NCAA Tournament each of his first four years, won five games in the tournament, and went to the Elite Eight. Clearly it ended poorly and it was time for him to go but three years after he left they made the Elite Eight again. He didn't exactly leave the program in shambles. I am glad to see him have success with the Utah Jazz. Probably a bad cultural fit at MU, but a nice guy.

Quin needed to grow up. Being fired was a wake up call that he answered.

I live near Salt Lake City and go to lots of jazz games. Quin can really coach.

Anderson can coach? If so - he hasn't been...

I do not think, at any level, National Championships fall into laps.
Sure. I think Anderson's X's and O's acumen (a selling point of Anderson supports early on) was/is greatly overhyped, and has been exposed by both D1 coaching and the lack of relative talent on this Mizzou team compared to his CMU teams.

KA is a master at preaching and teaching the fundamentals. His clogged toilet offense can churn up a turd at any point, and the defense is tough. They held Mississippi State under 90, and not every team can pull that off on a Wednesday.

Easily the Division 6 Coach of the Year.

UCM lets not get them and Central Methodist confused
