They lost to SEMO for starters.

They had about 4 pretty bad losses. SEMO, ETSU, Illinois State, Indiana State. Without those losses they’re 27-6 and pushing to be a top 25 team. Still a good overall body of work, which is why they’re NIT bound. Not easy to get into that tournament either. Tough draw vs OU. Bears fans wanted SLU, but they got paired with Northern Iowa instead.

Not sure the Bears were anywhere close. And are fortunate to be in the NIT

They also play in a conference that routinely gets only the conference tournament winner into the NCAA Tournament. Once in awhile the MVC gets two, maybe 3, but all three teams would need quality wins and only have losses to each other in conference play and the conference tournament.
