Point guard Jordan Geist is a happy man with big man Jontay Porter 6'11" returning to Columbia, Missouri for his sophomore season instead of playing in the NBA. The Missouri Tigers will have four big men in the 6'10" range and it will most likely be up to Jordan Geist to make them happy.

Who will be the back up point guard for Jordan Geist?

Xavier Pinson a true freshman from Chicago. I think he will unseat Geist mid year as starting PG

You could be correct but if you believe in player ranking ( Xavier Pinson # 368 ) and experience @ the D-1 level, Jordan Geise will be the odds on favorite @ the point guard position. The mid-year thing with Pinson could have merit if he can adjust from high school to D-1 basketball in the next 6-7 months.

I’ve seen his tape and stuff and I like him. Gonna distribute to the scorers. And will be the next “true” PG at MIZZOU I believe. Him and Watson are very close so that may help development as well. I think Watson is D1 ready as well.

Harris was suppose to be the future point guard and is now playing for NC State. Just can't bank on kids staying.

Pinson’s going to have to develop quickly if he’s going to do that. Geist will be needed for offense. There aren’t many scorers on MUs roster for Pinson to distribute to. Hard for a true frosh to play PG in. P5 league. Especially a low level 3-Star that’s not very strong.

You do realize Pinson was not a starter on his high school team his senior year. He played as many minutes as the starters I'm sure. His team was one of the best but going from 6th man in high school to starting point guard his first year in college for hopefully a top 25 team is a bit of a stretch to me.

I do think he will be very good but Harris was rated much higher and he did not look like a starting point guard his freshman year.

Pinson has as lot better attitude and less swelled head than Harris possessed. He will take coaching and profit from that coaching.
