the St. Louis Post is reporting MU is signing two juco players from John Logan College in Illinois.

Those two can both PLAY! Payne ia a 6'2 combo guard that was a star on a Madison College Prep State Championship Team that I hosted a few years back, thus he has played on the Mizzou Arena floor!

The Woods fellar is a 6'8 Forward that prepped @ Chicago Simeon....................

Kudos to the Staff for bringing in some players that should REALLY help from day one!

Can we say Kim Anderson is recruiting for need or recruiting for what he can get? After consulting with a few friends, it appears Ryan Rosberg will be the starting center @ Missouri next season. Ryan Rosberg could rise to the occasion this year and be a productive center for the Tigers.

Do we have anyone who can predict the rotation players for the Missouri Tigers other then Ryan Rosberg?

Agreed. Both should play right away. Guard play is starting to look good at MU.

Post play is different story. Woods is a rebounder/defender. Not a ton of offense. Basically a JW3 type. KA is either going to have to go away from the high-low stuff, or pull some post players out of his rear. Woods and Rosburg won't cut it in any league in the high-low. Guard play should be improved, which could open it up a bit...but not that much. Hope they find another immediate impact post with the remaining scholly...but it looks more likely they won't. Have heard Kobe Eubanks mentioned a lot. Nice 6'5" wing player formally committed to Baylor.

You might be the only person on the planet that believes that statement. Seems like a really good dude...but he just can't compete athletically in the SEC. Hope some hard work at least makes him serviceable, because he's going to have to play.

Ryan Rosberg will be the starting center @ Missouri next season therefore all Missouri fans must be believers. Ryan Rosberg is a hard worker and a great person. Ryan Rosberg will graduate @ Missouri and be successful as an adult. I'm betting most MoSports posters wish they had a kid like Ryan Rosberg. Eagle Ball, What say you?

I have a hard time following your logic...he'll be a starter (don't disagree, he was this year) and thus all MU fans must be believers. You lost me. If I'm an MU fan, I must believe in Rosburg because he's a starter? Okie dokie.

I say...he works hard. Great dude. All that contributes to squat on the court. In a perfect world, he'd show Josh Harrelson type play. In a more likely scenario, he'd be Chris Heller.

Not every great player is a good kid, and not every good kid is a great player. Being a great kid doesn't mean you are entitled to a spot on a basketball team.

Harrelson had some bounce and spring in his step that RR doesn't have, and could, on occasion, make a free throw and a 15 foot jumper.

BTW, I question any player's work ethic who can't make 1/3 of their free throws. RR was shooting 17 percent at the line at one point pretty late in the season. If you shoot a thousand free throws a day, you couldn't shoot 17 percent at the line if you were trying to miss them on purpose.

Kim Anderson, Mo sports and me

Most of us can agree that being a student is the most important part of recruiting basketball players for the Missouri program. Kim Anderson appears to be doing the ' Student Thing " with hopes they can play basketball @ a high level. It appears a few fans want Kim to recruit basketball players with hopes they can become students.

Only a select few will become professional basketball players but the ones who graduate with a worthy degree will have advantages for the remainder of their life. Kim Anderson appears to be getting it right.

Re: Kim Anderson, Mo sports and me

Recruiting great kids and great students is commendable. I have no problem with it. I encourage it. But you better win. It doesn't matter if you graduate all of your players with honors, if you don't win then you won't be around long. That's been proven year after year across the country.

Re: Kim Anderson, Mo sports and me

You are correct. They don't have to be Rhoades scholars. The team still needs to win games. It's still a business. Mizzou needs kids who can compete in the upper half of the SEC and make the NCAA tourney on a regular basis while staying out of trouble and doing some school work. By all accounts Ryan Rosburg is a great kid. But a roster full of Ryan Rosburgs will not keep Kim employed very long.

Rosburg

Dave Matter of the Post Dispatch said Rosburg was the only kid who can play the 5 spot. That's good news for all the teams on the Tigers 2015-16 schedule.

Assuming Eagle Ball, Oldround and Wcowherd are wrong and I'm right

Ryan Rosberg will be a different player for the Tigers next season and will get respect from the non-believers. Ryan Rosberg will not be the problem for the Tigers next season but all other positions could present situations. The Tigers will have little or no D-1 experience next season.

I'd be tickled to be wrong.

Ryan averaged 3.3 points, 2.6 rebs, 0.6 blocks, 50% FG and 33% FT this year and was overwhelmed by nearly every SEC opponent's strength and quickness.

What do you expect those numbers to be next year?

His logic is ...Rosburg is from StL so he must be a baller.

Here we go, Oldround

Ryan Rosberg will be the most experienced and the most durable player for the Tigers next year. Played in 96 games in his freshman, sophmore and junior year. Stats are not up to pare but will improve big time his senior year. I see all of Ryan's stats doubling plus except minutes and field goals.

1. Minutes per game------------23-25 minutes per game
2. Rebounds------------------------6-7 per game---maybe more
3. Field Goals----------------------60%
4. Free Throw----------------------65%

If Ryan can stay healthy-----I see Ryan Rosberg playing in 120 plus games for the Missouri Tigers in his four year career.

The doubters may disagree with the above, if so, pile on. with your opinion?

Re: Here we go, Oldround

It's not a coincidence that the program suffered one of its worst seasons in school history with him playing major minutes.

If he plays, it's because they don't have any other options.

I don't think there's anyway his numbers increase to that. Gant, Allen, and Woods will probably have to play the brunt of the "post" minutes. And I'll preface this statement by saying I absolutely love the high-low stuff. Love it! But...no way the Tigers can continue to do it with the players they have and expect to be competent offensively.

Not piling on, just trying to be realistic. Everyone would love for RR to improve his numbers and influence on games. But he's made very little difference in those 96 games he's played so far and I don't really expect that to magically change next year. He'll probably play quite a bit but it'll be because Kim doesn't have a better option yet. SEC centers are generally too athletic for him to compete against. Again, not his fault, just reality.

I agree. Ryan may be a great kid, but if he has to start for MU or even play more than 5:00 a game, the Tigers and KA are in trouble. He has made great improvements, but should not be a factor on a D-1 team. Just my opinion and again, not knocking the kid at all.
