Mineral Area Assistant

Fit?

Not a good fit? Maybe with both of our size we wouldn't fit into a bus seat together. Interested in hearing this "not good fit theory."

I don't know about rumors, but I have spoke to Corey Tate at Mineral Area, but so have other coaches. It is a nice situation, and I would be interested if things work out that way.

Claggett and Mills among others are also great canidates. Tate will have several good coaches to choose from to join his program.

Drew on a side note, it looks like our Herky/Flo Valley guy (Scott Martin) will be continuing his career at Central Arkansas (where Pippen played) the next two seasons.

Re: Fit?

Thanks for the tidbit on Scott. Thats a good school for him and a nice place to finish a hoops career. Pippen isnt bad alumni I dont think. I must appologise for the "not fit" comment. It's just that I had'nt heard about yourself. I hope it works out for you, I just thought you seemed happy at Flo thats all I meant, and I see that I could have phrased it differently. If you get the post then I'm sure we would all welcome you to Cardninal nation. Claggett would be a super pickup as an assistant and maybe you all 3 could get it going down here at MAC.

Yeah

it would be great if I could join forces with Claggett and Tate at MAC, but budget doesn't seem to allow it. Maybe it does, who knows.

I really enjoy coaching at Florissant Valley and Graham has been a great mentor, person to work with, and friend over the past couple of years. But, I am part-time at Flo and work full-time at another job off campus (which appears to have ended with the budget cuts in schools). I would like to change full-time jobs and be at one place, and MAC offers that. You have other responsibilities such as teaching, etc., but, you are on campus and feel more like a member of the college staff and community when that is possible. It also allows you to spend more time building relationships with your athletes (and relationships are important in my style of coaching).

Scott has improved in all areas since coming to Florissant Valley. Central Arkansas is a solid NCAA DII program. His work-ethic and academics has helped him to achieve a nice situation to continue his career.
