Military Industrial Complex is Rolling.....Lot's of Profits$$$

There are some among us who have been against the absurd military spending since Vietnam. We have been called every name in the book by Nixon, Reagan and Bush lovers for decades.

But Strangely it's the Dem's who seem to want to get us into Wars for the Most part WW1/WW2/Korea/Vietnam/Ukraine....... I'm glad that some People realize that if that is going to be the Norm du jour that we better be ready and at least equip our troops and have a Military Surplus to send to our proxies.

I would have no problem with Cutting back on the Military expenditures and Trimming out the fat, but that can only be done if we stop being the World Police and Defending every Country in Europe.

You can't have it both ways. You can't have Military spending that is aligned with Just defending America and Our interest, if we are expected to makes sure Europe is safe and Keep open the Asian Shipping lanes. And make sure the Oil Flows from the Persian Gulf.

If we don't want what you call absurd spending then our Globalist foreign Policy is going to have to be radically changed.

I mean you had Ex- President Medvedev Meeting Xi Jinping on the Same day Ukraines Z is meeting in the U.S.

They are there to talk about bi-lateral ties in the Ukraine war. The battle lines are being Drawn. And it's not good.

Russian has went all in monetarily to fund the War. They are Committing 1.5 million troops and raised the age on conscription, and have mobilized RS-28 Sarmat with activation. Russian and Iran now have a full on alliance and it seems Iran is under Russian Nuclear Shield. The Spector of Nuclear war is upon us.

I agree the money if it's actually being used and not grifted by the Ukraine power brokers is not a super large investment. To weaken Putin. Although just how much power does Russian have with a GDP just a bit ahead of Florida. Take away Russian Nukes and you have a nothing country......

Biden has proven his foreign policy decisions are inept. Afghan anyone!! I bet his administration has no idea for a exist strategy or even sitting down with Putin and working out a tasteful deal for both sides. We are just throwing money into Ukraine and hoping for the best.

If Putin Drags Belarus into this as the war escalates we will have to respond in kind. This is a sticky wicket and if you trust the bumbling Biden and his Administration to make the correct decisions you have more faith than a saint.

It could be done by not buying $700 hammers and toilet seats and such crap as that. Heads should roll over that kind of crap, Somebody is in charge of that stuff and they do nothing about it.

Biden got us out of Afghanistan after waaaay too many years there protecting people who laid down the weapons we gave them the first day we said we were leaving. How do you stop crazy people that would rather blow up some people than let us leave quietly and they could have their way?

Strangely, MG has selected memory. Reagan invaded Grenada, and supplied military support (peacekeepers, support troops, air strikes) in Libya, the Iraq/Iran War, the Russia/Afghanistan War (arming the Taliban who would ultimately turn the weapons on us), the Nicaragua/Contra Affair, and resumed massive military build up in the arms race with the USSR. Bush I invaded Panama, and led us in Desert Storm. Bush II invaded Iraq in the infamous search for WMDs, while knowing full well Bin Laden was in Afghanistan.

Seems to me that Repubs have led us into more wars than Dems in recent history.

Why are you not as upset about all the Grift in the Biden Bills..... Billions to Lawyers, 4.8 million to by a small fleet of busses for Las Vegas, The 300 Billion to tax credits and subsidies? 10 billion for a Radical Climate Green Corps. to do whatever some indoctrinated group will do at the Govt bidding. At least the hammers are used for Defense of the nation as opposed to Pure Tax payer theft.

You do seem to have a hate for the Military and their budget. Not unlike most of the Left wingers. I hate the waste as well but I have less of a issue with Military waste that actually protects our interest over Some Shady lawyer getting a kickback or Some Rich Arsehole getting tax subsides on his Second Tesla so he can brag about saving the environment. But to each his own.

You don't cut and run and leave 7 billion dollars of Gun's,Rocket Launchers, Helicopters, and other Military Grade weapons to terrorists to inflict damage and control of civilians.

You follow a clear and concise exit plan as opposed to cutting and running and hoping the thugs don't take over from day one. You get out your military personal, equipment and people who helped and would be targets as well. But better yet you keep a small force in country at minimal cost to keep stability and safety in that region. Having 5,000 troops stationed in Afghan to keep the peace and protect lives was a small price to the Military budget.

Biden Left more weapons of war in Afghan to unleash on the populace than can be imagined. But of course Biden has a history of Publicity stunts..... He traded the Merchant of Death for a Female Basketball player for Woke Credibility unleashing weapons of war on the World again.

Biden's Hypocrisy of wanting to Keep legal Self Defense weapons from the average America citizen which is a 2A directive of the constitution, while unleashing actual Weapons of War and the instrument Viktor Bout of their delivery across the Globe is comical.

Grenada was a rescue mission to get 1,000 American students out from under the Commie regime it was over in a few days .... LOL it was not a war at all.

Panama was over in a month and was not a war it was action to depose Noriega a criminal. Who was tried in America and in France as well.

Yes Regan tactically targeted Libya with airstrikes and sanctions but Ground Troops where not used or support troops at all. Might need to brush up on the incident.

Maybe you are confusing Obama 2011 attacks on M. Gaddafi family coupled with Nato troops.

I previously had listed the Wars that Dem's got us onto and the Wars Rep. got us into. I listed Both the Bush wars.

Persian Gulf remained open the oil flowed and Americas Economy remained number one in the world.....I doubt the Bushes or any Power elite is haunted at all.
 
You forget that us old timers were actually alive during these events. Grenada was a joke. Reagan’s approval rating was hurting big time. An explosion in a U.S. military installation in Lebanon had killed over 240 U.S. troops. Grenada was a totally unnecessary surprise so he could gain a victory and look like a tough guy. His base gobbled it up like we won WW III overnight and liberated the world. Your level of Wikipedia research makes you look so foolish.

Peacekeepers, police action, military operations, conflicts.... semantics. They all fall under the military industrial complex. Troops were deployed and men died.

Korea was called a police action at the time - haven't you watched MASH?

Yes I know Korea was called a police action but by most historians and experts it is considered a WAR.... But if you want I can also list the actions.... the count doesn't help the Democrats in the Least...... I was actually doing the Dem's a favor. I would have to add Obama, LBJ, Carter into the mix if you want to split hairs like that.
 
I agree... and in this Global economy to keep supply chains open and supplies flowing it is a necessary evil. And it's not like China isn't trying to dominate the World and control everything and anything it can. From Cobalt in the Congo to the Indian Ocean.
