Breaking News: President-elect Donald Trump said that he would impose a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico on his first day in office, a move that would scramble North American supply chains and impose heavy costs on businesses around the continent.

If it was insanity Biden would have gotten rid of Trumps tariffs.

Imposing heavy costs on people is what facilitates change

I couldn't agree more that government price controls are what is needed. Welcome to the club, comrade.
When did I ever say anything about price controls???

Heavy costs= big tariffs on imports to facilitate change

If they don’t want to shut down people and drugs coming through their country then hammer them big time.

On the demand end make the penalty for drug trafficking at any level life in prison and between the two drug problem pretty much go away overnight

Massive tariffs on lumber coming from Canada will certainly keep our housing prices down……he cares so much about the middle class.

You sure did say something about price controls. What is a tariff but a way to manipulate free market prices, thus: price controls. Excellent work, comrade.

Why did Biden put an 8% Tariff on Canadian softwood imports last July??

Trump is using tariffs to put pressure on Mexico and Canada to stop illegals and drugs from pouring across the border into our country. All Mexico has to do is turn illegals away and shut down drug cartels operating in their country and they would see no tarrifs

All they have to do is magically fix our drug problem by somehow completely shutting down 6,000 miles of our northern and southern borders immediately. Thats gunna happen. No more drug abuse in America. Just. Like. That.

Trump could say he wants your balls and you cult members would grab a rubber band and squeeze those babies till they fall off.

I thought immigration was fixed when Trump built the big beautiful wall.
It was until that tottering fool Biden rescinded all of Trumps executive orders on immigration,,,,,it won’t take long to get them back in place and turn all of them back around and head them walking south

Now that even dems are supporting securing the border we can actually get funding and start full scale construction

A study recently commissioned by the National Retail Federation, a trade group, found that Trump unilaterally imposing new taxes on imported goods would dramatically inflate costs and potentially devastate the economy. Indeed, Walmart is already saying it'll have to raise prices.

“Consumers would pay $13.9 billion to $24 billion more for apparel; $8.8 billion to $14.2 billion more for toys; $8.5 billion to $13.1 billion more for furniture; $6.4 billion to $10.9 billion more for household appliances; $6.4 billion to $10.7 billion more for footwear, and $2.2 billion to $3.9 billion more for travel goods,” the study found. Overall, Americans could see their spending power diminished by $46 billion to $78 billion.

In March, the Center for American Progress Action Fund also released an analysis that found Trump’s tariffs would amount to a $1,500 tax increase for the average U.S. household — and that was assuming a 10% tariff, less than half of what the president-elect has now proposed on goods from America’s leading trade partners.

Anyone remember Trump's China trade war? Remind me again exactly what it accomplished? Well, other than cause thousands of American small farmers to go belly up and a shortage of goods (and the beginning of inflation)!!
