Obama nominated him for the SC because he was a Federalist Society member which means the conservatives wouldn’t go for his throat.

Garland showed where he stands when he covered for Barr and didn’t charge Trump with the obstruction counts identified in the Mueller report.

Now here we are two years later and NONE of the planners to overthrow the 2020 election have been charged with anything including members of congress who were pushing the fake electors scheme nor any of the capitol attack planners in Trump’s orbit nor Ginni Thomas. Only foot soldiers have been charged.

He is despicable and so is Biden for appointing him. No way in hell do I support another Biden term.

Now Garland wants to implement a 50 year delay on when courts can consider releasing materials from federal grand juries. This would mean we won't get Trump admin court docs until 2069.

The corruption is sickening.

It appears that the DNCDOJ doesn't want Biden running in 2024.
He should just resign like I said in another post. Resign and let the process play out with the special counsel, this has already gone too far to for him to hang on. The only benefit he gets is "allowing" any and everybody to look for documents any and everywhere they wanted to. That does NOT let him slide for his handling of classified documents.

I would agree with that, but just look how long it took the House to elect a speaker, can you imagine what would happen if Biden stepped down? You would have Gaetz nominating Trump. Boebert nominating Cruz and the requests the republicans would want we would never have a VP.

They don't get to nominate his replacement it would be the VP. After that who knows. I assume Bidens lawyers and other advisors will tell him NOT to resign since we have the goofy standard that a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime. Who the hell ever came up with that?

You're right. I misrepresented what I was thinking. They couldn't nominate, but they can grandstand and make things more difficult to get a VP approved. They would be asking for all kinds of stuff to slow things down and push other members to not vote.

Who gets to approve it?

You are finally realizing that? It's always been rampant..... the system is and has been on both sides corrupt. You just want to delude yourself into believing that one side is less corrupt and more moral than the other. Pure BS.

Both the Senate and House. Senate would be easy now, but the House. I was a kid when Nixon resigned but I don't recall how all that went down for the VP spot. Not to mention we didn't have 24-7 coverage of this kind of stuff then.

Me too. I just looked it up.
"Ford was nominated to take Agnew's position on October 12, the first time the vice-presidential vacancy provision of the 25th Amendment had been implemented. The United States Senate voted 92 to 3 to confirm Ford on November 27. On December 6, 1973, the House confirmed Ford by a vote of 387 to 35."
Don't think we would ever get a vote like that now.

Not a chance of that kind of margin.
