Mercer superintendent/AD/girls basketball coach Dan Owens got his 500th overall career win last Friday night with a 58-37 victory over Class 1 No. 10 Tina-Avalon in the semifinals of the Meadville Tournament. After winning games Monday, Tuesday and Friday this week, he has 503 wins - 263 with the Mercer girls, 240 with the Mercer boys.
