No....the media stopped doing All-State. Although the NW area media got together and did their own "All-District" team.

GARRETT JOHNSON, 5’9″, JR., MENDON: NORTHWESTERN

COACH OF THE YEAR – JEFF WYATT, MERCER

nwbball, maybe you can answer this. Why in the world are some of these teams that play in the Northeast region on the All-Northwest District team? I mean, Hale and Northwestern play in Glasgow's district. Mercer hasn't played in the Northwest region in two years.

I would say it's because of their conference and tournament play in the regular season. While they head east in the post season....most of their schedule is in the Great NW. This oddity helped allow two HDC teams (Winston and Mercer) to make it to the Quarterfinals.

Clarification...my reply was to the question about the NW All-District team...which was a MEDIA list (the original post dealt with MBCA All-State)....
The NW Media did not follow any particular mbca or mshsaa boundaries when selecting their All-District list.
They can do whatever is in the best interests of their business and customer base...."you don't win an argument with someone who buys their ink by the barrell" (Mark Twain).
They picked a NW All-District team from their teams in the coverage area. Apparently, Mendon and these other "Eastern" teams plays enough of a NW schedule that someone voted for them.
