MBCA All-State Basketball has been released

Is this just copy of the last regular season poll. If not it's pretty carzy. It shows 3 teams ahead of Park Hills girls in class 3 when the they won the hole thing pretty easily.

I have always disliked ALL anything teams.... I honestly think its more for the parents and sports writers than it is for the athletes that participate. Athletes that play against one another know who the best players are. These teams our stat driven and many numbers dont reflect the type of players they are. There are athletes on these teams that have won 5-15 games and our members of an All state team? Seriously..... the numbers that should matter are WINS, and if you are ALL STATE caliber player your teams WIN.... Plain and simple.... some these players dont belong others do. Just my 2 cents

All-State teams are based off of All-District selections made by the coaches. Players are ranked in the all-district teams 1-10. 1 being the best player voted on by the coaches. So if a kid averaged 25 and was ranked 3 or 4th in the district, he probably will not make all-state. Does that make since? There are great teams that have better players but have 5 kids that can score and not just 1. There are a lot of ways to look at it. You are looking at 20 spots for 16 districts. There will always be ones that are deserving, but it is not watered down either. Congrats to the ones that have made it.

Thank you for explaining makes perfect since. So, your playoff run after the districts has nothing to do with the voting? If this is the case... that doesnt make any since.

She was probably the best player on that team. I have a hard time believing that the Skaggs girl was the player of the year. Good player but brobaly not the best on her team.

The Park Hills point guard has been their best player for three years. She led that team to a championship. Without her they don't get to state, let alone win it. This is a miscarriage.

I couldn't agree more. The Skaggs girls were obviously deserving, but the Jones girl was the one who made the whole thing go. Is she going to play anywhere next year?

Re: 3r you didn't check the date

You are correct staff, I didn't notice the date on it. That makes it much more ridiculous. How can a team that got beat by the team that won the class 3 championship by a LOT, be ranked #1 in the final poll and that team, Park Hills, be ranked 4th as they were in the regular season poll. I could understand Saxony making the top 4 in the final poll when they didn't make the final 4 after losing in OT to Park Hills in the quarterfinal but there is NO way they should be ahead of them.

Re: 3r you didn't check the date

ok, I guess I am confused to which team you are talking about.

Re: 3r you didn't check the date

I'm confused I guess because this is NOT the poll I saw on that link earlier today. That's why I asked about it, it appeared to be from the regular season with records that wouldn't have been end of season records and it had Saxony 1, Booneville 2, St.James 3 and Park Hills 4. That's why I was asking.

Explain how the point guard is up for Miss Missouri (top 9 in the state all classes) and isnt even in the top 20 for class 3. Really shows how much attention goes into these teams.
