Probably, but the Birds will keep throwing him out there until he tells them every muscle in his throwing arm is ripped up, because MM trusts his players not his eyes.Serious question
Is Wacha hurt? He went from 96-97 to 91-93 quickly
When Schwarber hit his homerun, I heard them say he turned around a fastball.....Probably, but the Birds will keep throwing him out there until he tells them every muscle in his throwing arm is ripped up, because MM trusts his players not his eyes.
If he wasn't then he is now. Oblique strain, MRI to see how bad. They said he told them he had no feeling in his fingers when they took him out. How the heck does that kind of injury make you lose feeling in your fingers? Who is next man up in the rotation? When Schwarber hit his homerun, I heard them say he turned around a fastball.....
It was I think 91. Dead center and in the upper zone. It was a homerun derby pitch. Something seemed off
Gordo mentioned Gant, Poncedeleon, and Hudson. Helsley is in Memphis DL, so he’s out. Assume Gomber isn’t an option because he’s the only lefty in the pen with Lyons out. Oh wait, I guess Cecil counts as a lefty. Sorta. If he wasn't then he is now. Oblique strain, MRI to see how bad. They said he told them he had no feeling in his fingers when they took him out. I don't keep up with all of baseball like some you guys do so maybe you can tell me if other teams have as many oblique injuries as the Cardinals do? I just know the last several years this has been a real problem for the Birds, position players and pitchers. Is it something the training staff isn't doing or something they are doing wrong? Or maybe it's the players doing something on their own they shouldn't be doing?Gordo mentioned Gant, Poncedeleon, and Hudson. Helsley is in Memphis DL, so he’s out. It all started when they passed on Mad Max who wanted to be a bird! The season is over kids. Two years ago Mo could have traded our prospects for some stars. He hangs onto them until they prove they arent prospects or they get hurt.
If he wasnt going to trade prospects he should have unloaded some veterans and rebuilt. The Cardinals "dynasty" is so so over.
They tried to go bargain basement with every damn move. Dexter, Cecil, Gregerson, Holland. All second tier/washed up crap.
Why do Cardinal hitters consistently TAKE a fastball down the middle on 2-0 and 3-1 counts? What the heck are they looking for if not a mid 90's fastball when they're ahead in the count? They keep letting pitchers get the count back their favor so they can throw their nasty slider or curveball. It all started when they passed on Mad Max who wanted to be a bird!
I kept score for the HS baseball team for five yrs. No coaching, definitely don’t know enough baseball for that. But two things drove me batcrap...well, way more than two, but let’s limit to two for this discussion. Lol. Popping up or hitting weak grounders on bad pitches on the first pitch of an AB. And GOOD hitters taking gutted fastballs on 2-0/3-1 counts. Sometimes I have those same frustrations watching the Birds now. I know I probably bitched about Big Mac as the hitting coach, but his philosophy of picking on the first good pitch you see and hammering it has some merit. Problem is, I’m not sure a lot of the Birds batters actually SEE pitches. Seems to me they’re just flat guessing a lot.Why do Cardinal hitters consistently TAKE a fastball down the middle on 2-0 and 3-1 counts?
