Maryville/Odessa game

More talented JB teams than this year's squad have failed their last four attempts in the dome against west side competition; what makes you think this year is any different?
I will say. Having seen this Maryville team play multiple games this season. I don't know who, if anyone will beat them. They are very strong at the skill positions and have probably on of the best defensive/offensive lines in Class 3.
WPAlum2010, are you broadcasting this game Friday night? Hope so as I enjoy watching it a second time when I get home from the games.

Well when your grandkids play, you want to watch them as much as you can........lol Should be a pretty good game as Odessa's running back has over 2,000 yards rushing this year. I have been searching for some webcast of Odessa football from this year but cannot find any on the web. Oh well, guess I will just have to watch them Friday night.....lol
It will be interesting to see how they stop Hardin from Odessa. I think Maryville is physical enough on the D-Line to maybe slow him down. I see a close game maybe coming down to the 4th quarter. But I see a Spoofhound victory.
How do they do it? Very impressive program and team. Odessa is out-classed.
Having watched both play, I think Odessa is better up front. 71 is a stud. 49 from Maryville is too. It will be fun to watch. I'm thinking Odessa 28-22
I would give a small edge to Odessa Mark Thomas has done a great job with this team in his 3rd year. When the kids and parents buy into his program you win. I do think Maryville will make a great game of it.

If my math is right, regardless of who wins in the other quarterfinal, the winner of this quarterfinal will travel to SWMO for the semis (and I hope to be there...)

I really like the program Mark Thomas has installed at Odessa. Parents and players are buying and the results are showing. I really hope he can stay around for longer than 4 years though. Odessa has a history and getting rid of good coaches. I see this being a hard fought, close game. The team that plays better special teams and limits mistakes will win. I cant pick against Odessa but I could see Maryville winning too. Odessa 29 Maryville 27.

Talking about buying in, this being Matt Webb's fourth year in this program, I also think the kids and parents have bought into this program as the Spoofhounds stand at 54-1 since he took the reins. A few hours from now will tell the story and there will be no questions remaining. Should be a great game! Win or lose, both teams should be proud of their accomplishments.
It's not like he had to build much, Coach Holt left the program in great shape. I'm not knocking Coach Webb he has done a great job, but let's not act like he built something when he rolled into a job not shortly removed from a state title
