Maryville Blair Oaks have agreed to play each other next 2 years

Blair Oaks and Maryville will meet again on the football field for at least the next two seasons. Blair Oaks athletic director Corey Felten confirmed the Falcons and the Spoofhounds will play each other in the 2018 and 2019 season openers. Dates, game times and locations are still to be determined. Maryville will replace Kirksville as Blair Oaks' Week 1 opponent on the schedule. The Spoofhound mascot is based on a compilation of mascot dogs for various World War I units. The nickname stuck with Maryville starting in the 1923 season when its football coach said his players "looked like a bunch of Spoofhounds" because they are "scrapping all the time."

If true, that would be a good replacement to our schedule as St. Pius joins us in the regular season as they take Smithville's position in the MEC Conference. Long drive though.........lol

Not sure. Don't know Maryville's 2018 schedule. Blair Oaks is replacing Saint Pius non-conference slot because they entering conference replacing Smithville.

Who's Lawson usually play week two? I'm guessing St Pius moving out of that slot to later in year.

Yes. I looked on MSHSAA and they still haven’t posted the Maryville schedule for next year. Very intriguing that they dropped Lawson. Interested to see who they pick up to fill out the schedule outside of Blair Oaks

Has Lawson full schedule post yet? maybe they flipped weeks.

Yes it has. They have Oak Grove, Lafayette County, then KCI Conference Play.
