WOW INSTANT CLASSIC. Now on to the WEEK ONE rematch I was hoping for (since Odessa hung it up): Maryville vs. Blair Oaks. The Falcons will essentially be a home team and no doubt the favorite BUT this is another of those blowout rematches.

The Spoofhounds and the Falcons know each other very well. They have opened their seasons against each other the last several years. Expect to see some articles in the news especially in Mid Missouri to come out about the relationship these 2 schools have of each other again. Lots of respect between the schools.

Interesting rematch. I "think" Blair Oaks offense is simply unstoppable so Maryville will have to win a shootout. Like other games this weekend (C6 final and C5 semi) we have another HUGE coaching challenge getting his Falcons up for a team they destroyed this time earlier in the same season (Week 1 when Maryville had tremendous virus issues).

Maryville won't win a shootout. Best chance they have is a defensive battle. They held Cassville scoreless for 3 qtrs with bringing pressure. When they backed off in 4th qtr Cassville scored 28 points.

Maryville offense somewhat different this year since their best player (QB) was injured for season Week 1. The replacement QB is a passing QB on a team that runs 95% of the time. He does not run with ball unless qb sneak.

Got to give credit to this team for not laying down early in the season. Some seniors in a normal year would have had backup roles have stepped up to be starters because a few of the more talented underclassmen did not go out for fb because of covid. That's why their team #'s are so small this year. Kids wanted to play but their woke parents would not let them play.
