Martin brothers

It looks like the younger brother decommitted from Fort Scott CC a few days ago.

The story below says Cam would only talk to and commit to a school only if they would take Alex as a walk-on. That they were a package deal.

He going to play college ball until he's 28?
I don't think till 28. He graduated high school in 2017 and will complete college in 2024. So he would be anywhere from 24-26 when he's done playing college ... depending on whether he was 17, 18, or 19 when he finished high school. Basically like Stetson Bennett fron Georgia was in football.

With Covid Years and the NIL, why not? Make decent money playing minor league basketball with minimal expenses while probably stacking degrees if you're smart about it.

Which really hurts those 2021 - 23 graduates. 18 year old playing again 25 year-olds. I don't blame the athletes for doing. They should take advantage of it. It just sucks that the 4-year clock is still running for those in the classes of 2021 - 23 and the clock is much shorter.

Probably why the prep schools are on the rise.

Cam is also the extreme at 7 years with a Covid year, a redshirt year, and a medical redshirt. I don't blame Cam for taking advantage of it and taking his brother along for the ride.

Alex was 3rd team COC. I get wanting to play with your brother but even in practice he will have no chance. He will end up not enjoying himself.

Why wouldn't he enjoy himself? He is getting to spend a year playing with his older brother and getting a D-1 experience he probably wouldn't get otherwise. Then he will move on to a lower level where he will have a shot to play.
