Ok, lets look at the numbers:
Marshall- 0-3 27 points scored, 118 points allowed
Lost week one to Chillicothe 13-41
Lost week two to Smith-Cotton 14-41
Lost week three to Mexico 0-36
Combined opponents record 8-1
Kirkville- 0-3 13 points scored, 77 points allowed
Lost week one to Salem 7-20
Lost week two to Chillicothe 6-41
Lost week three to Moberly 0-16
Combined opponents record 5-4

Well, my first thought is, someone has to win this game! Marshall has played better teams but was not all that competitive in those games. Kirksville has played an easier schedule, but WAS more competitive. I would have to go with Kirksville on this one but would not be surprised if Marshall wins as well. I do see this game being close though. This is a tough one to predict, each team almost cancels the other out in various categories.

I've watched them both play Chillicothe. In my humble opinion, Marshall's QB Zac Maupin could be the difference. He is a play maker that might have some success vs Kirksville. The Tigers are young, but experienced.. only three seniors last year, only a hand full of seniors this year (of which only 2 were on the team last year as Jrs).

Marshall 28 Kirksville 12

Marshall gets its first victory of the season by defeating winless Kirksville. The Owls were up 21-0 at the half courtesy of long TD runs by Garrett Clouse and Zach Maupin, and a one-yard plunge from Erik Mays in the final minute of the 2Q. Marshall cruised through the second half, taking a 28-6 lead deep into the fourth. Kirksville got a long TD of their own with about 3:00 left to narrow the deficit to 28-12, but was unable to recover the onside kick, sealing the W for the Owls.
