Wondering what games are going to start sorting out the cream of the crop in class 1? No worries, I went ahead and looked them up for you!

1/16-Stanberry will likely take on Winner of Jefferson/North Andrew in SB tourney (Stanberry won previous with both teams by 8) (NA vs. Jefferson tonight-both previously top 10 teams) Stanberry Beat North Andrew by 6.
1/16-Mercer will Play Novinger in the Milan Tourney Final (top 10 team battle)-Mercer Wins
1/22-Glasgow Plays New Franklin (2nd of three times) after a close first meeting (43-40)-New Franklin Wins
1/22-Weableau-Walnut Grove top 10 matchup-Walnut Grove wins Huge
1/30-Stanberry beats North Andrew by 24 in the final of the King City Tournament
1/30-Tina Avalon wins Meadville tournament over Northwestern Mendon over Meadville and Mercer
2/1-Hardin Central vs. Well-Nap (top 10 class 1 vs. t-10 class 2, should give insight into how Leeton matches up too) Wellington wins by 30
2/1-Advance plays Scott County Central (Advance is 2-0 vs. Central this season)SCC wins 100-73
2/2- Mercer vs. Winston Rematch (Winston wins by 19)
2/4-Stanberry Plays Trenton who lost in Overtime to Winston by 2 earlier this season
2/5-Winston vs. Hardin Central
2/6-Walnut Grove plays Crane
2/16-Glasgow vs. Meadville

Couple more to add...possible Mercer vs Tina Avalon semifinal in the Meadville Tournament. Thursday, Jan. 28th, 5:45 game. Possible Stanberry vs North Andrew (Part 2 or 3 depending on the Stanberry tournament pairings) at the King City Tournament championship...Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8:30.
You listed Jan. 22 ....Weableau vs Walnut Grove..BIG MATCHUP in the polls.....both teams been cliimbing higher.....the board will light up a little with Class 1 posts.
 
Yes, Tina (as I marked them a sleeper) hung right in with Winston. Have you seen Hardin-Central? Did Leeton lose some key people from last year's run?

Also found it crazy that Mercer stayed in the top 10 after the Winston game.
 
I have seen Hardin-Central early in the year and unless they have improved Wellington should win by 15 or more. I have also seen Leeton twice. Once when they beat Green Ridge and then when they loss to Windsor. Yes they lost a lot of talent but pretty much reloaded and have a very good coach that gets every drop out of his players. I think Leeton would beat Hardin. I also will take Walnut Grove over Weaubleau.

I have seen all of the top 4 teams play and have a decent grasp of what they are capable of, but what kind of personnel/style of play does Leeton, Hardin, Mercer, & Advance have? Is there anyone out there that compares to Stanberry in size? They must feed those kids something special over there!
 
Interesting. Looks like with the transitive property, Walnut Grove is top dog down there. 102-75 they beat Hermitage last week? wow.
 
Stanberry remained undefeated, beating North Andrew 60-54

Winston cruised to their championship at Osborn by 26 points.

Mercer beat Novinger by 4 at the Milan Tourney Final. Any other top team scores to report?

New Franklin gave Glasgow its first loss on Glasgow's homecoming by 3 points on the 22nd.

Also looks like Mercer and Meadville and Tina Avalon are all in a tournament together, so we may have some matchups later this week.

That would have been me,.....and I stand by my statement.

There is no boys team in this tournament that is a top 10 team. That was apparent whenever a legitimate top 10 team (Winston) beat Mercer by 50 something. If you see Tina at COMO this spring, they will be watching the games.
That is unless they have had some "move ins" I'm not aware of. :cool:

I'm not that familiar with the teams in district 9. However, Tina would have to get by Glasgow in districts before worrying about quarterfinals.

By the way, I'm not trying to put Tina down, just being realistic.
 
I have watched Tina three times...they have the pieces but are a bit inconsistent. They have athleticism and some height...quite a bit to be honest...they shoot the 3 a lot (probably should throw it inside to the 6-06 or 6-03 kids some?). When they are on they can be a challenge. But it's hard to shoot the 3 well for a whole game.
Glasgow plays at Meadville on Feb. 16. Meadville will be the 15-20 point underdog in that game. Glasgow seems to be one of the favorites to beat for now in that quarter.
 
My 4 Quarterfinal matchups right now are: Advance-South Iron, Walnut Grove-Leeton, Glasgow-Mercer, and Winston-Stanberry.
Tina is a great story but I don't see how they get by Glasgow.

I agree with your final 4. Only difference I could see is Winston. But I don't think Stanberry will slip up against them for the 2nd consecutive year.

Anything can happen in Feb. Sickness, injury, etc.
These are my picks now, unless something changes

South Iron beat Hermitage today by 15. SI not the SI of the last few years but if they got to play the schedule most of the North and West teams play they'd have maybe 2 losses and be in the top 5.
 
As far as the NW region goes, I heard Stanberry soundly handled North Andrew in King City final by 24 and Tina Avalon (my cinderella) won the Meadville tournament with Mercer getting by Meadville by 1 in the 3rd place game.
