The Horton community and school district suffered a blow this week, as current Horton High School Athletic Director, assistant football coach, and Horton alum Mark Ross announced he has accepted a position in Marceline, Mo., to take over as the school’s head football coach, Athletic Director and assistant basketball coach for the 2018-19 school year.
Ross said the decision to take the new position was difficult, but said the move “allows me to take the next step in my career and get my teaching license along with my first head coaching job.”
