Cabot High school is a pretty good team. They have over 2000 kids in their high school.
I am not sure I would go so far as to say Licking is not in the same league, but they are in a funk at the moment. Losses to Houston and now to Mansfield. But I have no doubt they will be ready to roll come districts.
Mansfield is playing better than they were earlier in the year.
Very likely a rematch in the district championship. But that district is pretty solid. Licking, Mansfield, Houston, Liberty, Thayer.
I will still take Licking to come out of that one even with a couple losses at this point.

Having seen 4 out of those 5 play this week Licking ran out of gas, Mansfield was firing on all cylinders that day, Liberty had a very good Chadwick on the ropes for the better part of 4 quarters, and Houston well the play as well their coach lets them if things ain’t going their way she whines and it reflects on the girls play
Houston started off winning games last year and ended their season losing a lot of games. I can see the same thing happening this year. Their coach is not near as good at her job as she thinks she is.
Licking played bad today. Mansfield is a good team but they aren’t as good as they were last year. There is no chance anyone out of that district beats FG. They are a state champion contender this year.

Definitely agree about the Houston coach. Shame too because they have some athletes that can play.
I am not ready to say Licking has no chance. But if any other team comes out of that district, they have no chance. Licking has a punchers chance with how they can get hot and hit 3s.
Going to be fun.
Medlock and Sullins are the real deal when they get hot from behind the arc…..Medlock was 9pts short of breaking the single game tournament record on Tuesday
Score comparisons do not really show what I am talking about. I definitely agree that FG would be the favorite against Licking. But the Licking team that played yesterday is not who they care capable of being. Licking can get hot from outside unlike just about any other area team. And they have a better coach than any other team in the district and better than FG. So you put those two things together and they have a chance to knock off FG.
It is harder to get hot from 3 against a tall lanky team like Fair Grove who is going to play a tight man to man. Getting hot from 3 and hitting 15 in a game against some weak zone playing team is a big difference. Licking has played a really weak schedule so far and have played no one even half as good as Fair Grove. Honestly though i would'nt be surprised if Strafford upsets Fair Grove in their district.
The way I look at it is we can agree Fair Grove is good…..Licking is a wild card….and Strafford may.beat them all lol
Completely agree with what it will come down to.
And for that reason I would put my money on Strafford. I really like Fair Groves team, but they have the feel to me of a really good regular season team. But when the stakes get high in districts and the game slows down and little things really matter, I am not sure they will have enough of the grit, experience and coaching to survive.
And back to Licking for a minute. It will be harder for them to get their 3s with tough man to man defense, but they have faced tough man to man defense several times in this run of theirs over the last 7-8 years. Their coach will get them looks. He has a ton of sets and and can adjust on the fly as well as anyone.
Like I said I think there legs were dead by day 4 of the Holiday Tournament…..and Mansfield like I said was firing on all cylinders
SI girls just won the Park Hills Tourney again. They are always the smallest school there.
If I'm not mistaken Delta girls have lost a game or two this season but who knows what they'll be like come playoff time.
