Eh, if you're the Birds, you can't give up two good guys without getting him to the table on an extension. Or else you dial back who those two guys are pretty significantly.

Given the Birds would pay Stanton, there is some appetite here to have a 250 M + contract on the books for a stud. Machado is a great choice given his position, age, decent health history, and the backstop value gained from incredible defense.

It is difficult to foresee the Orioles accepting the one year rental price, because you aren't getting two good prospect pitchers for a one year rental. You need to have them for a few years like Sale if you want to get multiple studs.

For the Cards, if you can sign him to 10 years, 320 M and it costs you Alcantara and Weaver or Reyes? I think you have to think about it.
