Mac County beats Lamar

I don’t know if it ever has. When I saw the MAC county score in week two I thought they might give Lamar a close game but I don’t think anyone expected this. Probably the biggest win in their programs history.
Meanwhile Lamar needs to regroup. They face Nevada next week for the silver tiger.

Ya just never know. Last week Aurora handled Mac fairly easy after falling behind 14-0. Mac's line looked weak but maybe Aurora just matched up well. I'm sure Lamar will recoup

They beat Webb in 1998! They still talk about that one.

You also never know when half a team could be out bc of quarantine. Still, this news is insane.

And lo! The Lamb broke the seal, and a mustang burst forth. 11 heads it had. 7 foreword and 4 behind. It spake in a language of numbers and secret words and anger toward the tiger burned in its belly. And it went forth and descended upon the tiger, rending it’s flesh and inflicting shame.
My inner nerd found this quite amusing. Well done!

Except for a starting running back being out with cramps the entire 2nd half, Lamar had everyone available. Lamar led 34-14 at the 5 minute mark of the 3rd quarter. McDonald Co. outscored Lamar 28-7 with 5 minutes left in the game. Lamar drove from their own 10 to the McDonald Co. 5 yard line and attempted a 22 yard field goal. The ball sailed under the crossbar.

For those that haven't seen McDonald Co. play, they are much improved and will compete with everyone on their schedule. Kellen Hoover has that program on the rise and numbers are up and so is the attitude. If they play every game with the heart they displayed against Lamar, they will be tough to handle.

As for Lamar, they are not as big or deep in the trenches as they have been in the past. They look like the typical Class 2 team with many of their players playing both ways and on special teams. Against Reeds Spring and McDonald Co., they made a lot of mental mistakes. One they were able to come back to win. The other, they were not. The Big 8 is brutal this year and Lamar could suffer more losses but If they can stay healthy and can correct their mental lapses , they will be tough to handle in Class 2.

Also isn't MC quite a bit larger than anyone else in the Big 8? I was thinking they were larger than CJ but smaller than Webb City.

IMO the thing that always really separated Lamar was the big boys they had in the trenches. Many teams could usually match their skill positions, but nobody had better guys up front.
