MAAA

Could be interesting. Central and North County girls are always a good team at the top of the big schools. I wonder if anyone will compete with AV in the small schools division. Should be a fun year for this conference!

Preseason Guess:
Small Schools
#1 AV- Return a do-it-all senior with a very athletic youthful core.
#2 WC- Brings back a lot of height that will score on offense and limit second chance opportunities on defense. Always well coached.
#3 Bismarck-dark horse pick to win conference. Very aggressive team that will cause a ton of turnovers
#4 Valley- Solid performance last season. Returning coach and core
#5 VC- New coach and system. Should get some early wins before Christmas with favorable early schedule
#6 Kingston-Rebuilding with a new coach and system

Large Schools-too close to call. Another collection of great talent for the MAAA Large School Division.

#1 Central-they're top dog until someone knocks them off
#2A, #2B, #2C, #2D, #2E?
Central-Excellent speed and defensive tenacity. Do they handle high expectations without stars Skaggs and Casey?
Ste Gen-most dynamic guard in the conference. Any team is a legitimate threat to win when they have a scoring PG.
Farmington-dark horse of the division. Talented group that has all the pieces necessary to win. Schedule never does them any favors however.
NC-Power scoring post that can run the floor with anybody. Who else steps up to help with scoring?
Potosi-Return a solid core of talent at guard and post positions. Watch out for their left handed PG.
Fredericktown-Great inside presence with returning posts. Who fills the guard responsibilities?

How bad did graduation hit NC and Central? Seems like those schools took hits. Fredericktown too. Ste Gen lost some roll players but have people who can step right in to fill those rolls.

I think this is the year for Ste Gen to make a run. Gonna be real interesting to see how team's x and o on the large school side cause it could come down to coaching ... and not necessarily on the offensive end of the floor.

Til I see otherwise I'm going with the Lady Dragons.

As far as the small schools go, Valle has a good structure of younger players to build around. Someone needs to tap into the volleyball athletes and get them out for basketball. The players have always been there, but getting them to go out and play basketball is another thing. Would love to see some increased interest level in this program and would love to see them play some up tempo basketball on both ends of the floor.

What happened to WC Saturday night and NC last night? Is AV the best team period large or small schools. Just looking a scores.
