that holding him back 3 days past his normal start time was a problem. The extra rest didn't help Martinez either. I sure hope 10 days off doesn't affect Wacha that way, they at least need a good a good start from him win or lose.
 
They obviously know more about it than me but I'd think instead of missing a whole start and getting the daily routine out of sync they might keep them close to the normal schedule but only throw 40-50 pitches or so. Maybe they'd stay sharper but still give the arm some rest.
 
Changing what is working is never a great plan if u ask me, but I understand protecting arms just don't agree with it.
 
Now Wacha gets hit early. Not sure this resting your pitchers is working like they had hoped 2 runs might be enough the way our bats have gone on vacation

And got a lot worse before he got some more rest. Players, like most of us, are creatures of habit. Don't mess with that and let em go 5 and take em out. They do have plenty guys in the pen this month and they could all use some work I'm sure.
