Lynn has made 3 rehab starts in the last couple of weeks. 6.2 IP, ER 7 Ks. Is he the answer to inconsistency on the hill for the Cardinals?
No. Not in the least. But, what he can be is an option out of the bullpen. Maybe pushing Reyes to the rotation. Or simply giving the bullpen another option. Lynn hit 94 on gun last night. Combo of Lynn/Reyes/Seigrest/Duke/Oh wouldn't be bad in high leverage situations.Lynn has made 3 rehab starts in the last couple of weeks. 6.2 IP, ER 7 Ks. Lynn said two days ago it's highly unlikely he will pitch in 2016. His words.
His words, yes. His thoughts, I'd bet against that. If the Birds are in the playoffs, I'd be willing to bet Lynn's in the bullpen. Only way he isn't is he tried a return in September and was ineffective.Lynn said two days ago it's highly unlikely he will pitch in 2016. His words.
You don't want him on a playoff roster unless he has pitched, and pitched well, in September. But you also don't want to throw him out there in games that may be for a playoff spot when you don't know what you're getting either. Put him on the expanded roster and see if the right opportunity comes up to see what he's got if they have a blowout game. His words, yes. His thoughts, I'd bet against that. Totally agree with everything you said. And I'd be willing to bet, unless he's ineffective, he'll be on the playoff roster...if there is one.You don't want him on a playoff roster unless he has pitched, and pitched well, in September.
