Luthern North - Tweet

Unpopular Opinion on this board, but I think Coach Reed is doing great things for those kids, and at the very least putting them in a good situation. I hope the kids make the most of their opportunities.
Yes he can recruit with the best of them. It’s unpopular because of the insane disadvantage it puts other small school teams in.

Lutheran North football @CoachReed314told me today that star players Antonio Doyle, Itayvion Brown and Trayvion Ford have more than 100 D1 football scholarships, between the three of them. There are potentially 20 D1 players on Coach Reed's St. Louis-area team.

You are grasping for straws. You haven’t grabbed one yet. I’m bored.

Translation - “I don’t like that team. They’re not from where I’m from, their kids don’t look like me, and I wish I’D had the opportunities they’re getting. So, I’m just gonna keep crying that they’re cheating, even though MSHSAA has been thru their school with a fine-toothed comb bc every other fan/coach/parent that feels the same way I do called their AD. Waaaaaah.”

Racial undertones and accusations aside you are a moron. You are very assumption based on your feelings. Don’t bring your racist hang ups to a argument about literal disadvantages recruiting brings.

No the Literal disadvantage - is where these kids grow up...

good on them for getting looks and offers, I hope they make the best of them.

STL is as a whole dangerous. Trinity for example isn’t located even in a safe area of the city. That’s a bunk, moronic argument. Those are things these coaches use to bring whomever they want. The virtue stick doesn’t work on me.

Man, none of those schools are located in a "safe" area. Its the oasis that helps these kids, its the coaches and schools that helps these kids. its become apparent you know 0 about STL

Easy there, snowflake. I’m not clear on how YOUR hang ups make ME a racist, especially since I didn’t mention race. Unless, in your mind that’s the only way you could possibly be different? Either way, you’re all over the map with your gripes and it’s clearly an emotional issue that’s driving you. Didn’t Sean Hannity tell you racism doesn’t exist anymore?

Recruiting IS an advantage and a distinct one private schools have that public schools GENERALLY do not. Families are allowed to transfer between public schools and their kids can get exceptions to be immediately eligible. Even without one, thy can sit a year (per MSHSAA rules) and play the following year. In fact, that’s common in STL, where there more than one district for families to choose from. Public schools DO advertise and recruit, just like private schools do here. Pretty aggressively, too, when kids are entering 9th grade. After that ... just like with private school transfers ... families may decide to send their kids to a different school between 9th and 12th grades. It’s not “illegal”. It’s not “cheating”. It’s not “immoral”. It’s just something that you don’t like ... but that’s a personal problem you have. Please continue bitching about it tho. The shit’s PURE entertainment gold. Lol

Are you two still bickering!? Just have a halftime fight or post game yelling match, bury the hatchet later, and get over it!

which means transferring for those purposes is indeed stupid. It doesn’t make sense. It’s a coaches fever dream fo bring in whoever he wants. I know plenty it’s one of the most dangerous cities to live in, in the country.

You are literally saying I don’t like the kids because they don’t look like me. That’s assuming I’m racist. You can’t be this stupid.

So coaches say “move here before high school” and that’s not recruiting? Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s right. You have took the 3rd L just today.

You’ve been howling at the moon about rules you don’t like, and can’t change by anonymous bitching online ... but I’M stupid? Lol.

I flat out used the word RECRUITING to describe what’s happening. The part you can’t get past is that it ISN’T illegal, simply because you don’t like it. Maybe you’re right tho? Maybe it’s The Illuminati conspiring to allow it? I’m content with things being just the way they are. That includes getting you all lathered and outraged about EVERY ONE of my comments bunching your panties. :)

Kids will play ball, the best teams will win games, and some fortunate kids will get to play football in college. Some parents will choose to send their kids to different schools, because they CHOOSE to. It’ll piss you off, you won’t be able to stop it, and your life will go on. Hopefully, you won’t stop crying about it here tho. You made my day, bro.

You lost. I’m sorry

Vegas line is going up because of your post! lol

I worry about the regular season opponents. These superteams are killing similar sized public schools. A class 4 school forfeited to one of the privates a few years ago. 60+point wins are pretty common.

Maybe that's what misha had in mind with the class advancement thingy. Trinty and their ilk can win their way into class 6. Then everything is fair again...

I must be missing something here. Between Trinity and Lutheran North don’t they have a total of one title????

It’s Vashon all over again. Someone just needs to write a book about St Louis cheating in football like they did for basketball.

Easiest way to stop it is for all teams to forfeit to them.

Right. When they play the smaller elite public schools they usually fall short. My point is, the regular season games where the blowouts and forfeits happen, those public school's (who have to follow public school's rules) are the ones whose programs suffer. That is where it is an unfair advantage.

People just should stop scheduling them. Pretty much would fix the problem I would think

That’s an excellent idea. You all should tell your favorite teams’ ADs and HCs to forfeit to Trinity, Ritter and LN if you’re scheduled to play them this post-season. Just pack it up and start practicing for Winter sports. That’ll show ‘em. Lol

If nobody played them during the regular season their players wouldn’t be eligible for the post season so their season would be done as soon as post season play started.

Not talking about forfeiting a game, just stop scheduling them in the first place. To heck with them

There are at least 4 local teams that already went that route. 2 are in LN’s conference and Trinity had 2 teams do it 2 years ago, as well. All of the teams that forfeited and/or ran from playing them, ended up killing their programs. ALL of the teams that have done that, in the regular season OR post-season, ended up kicking the last leg their programs were standing on. ESPECIALLY since all but one of them were also private schools. None have been able to field sustainable football teams since. Either the kids quit or the families chose to take their kids to schools that didn’t foster an environment of capitulation.

Personally, I think teams too scared or intimidated to play another team SHOULD forfeit or hide behind refusing to compete. Just like in “real life” there’ll be people that choose not to compete. Might as well get a head start on a lifetime of making excuses when faced with adversity.
