Regardless of what happens next week, what an awesome showing by SWMO football. Final four representation is classes 1-5
Isn't that the norm? NWMO has 3 (if not all 4) in 8-man, 2 in Class 6, and 1 each in Class 1-5.
Congrats to the coaches and all the boys. We are all so proud of them. What a great game. Lincoln played their tails off as well so hats off to them for a good game and a fine season.
Crazy thing is, Pierce City and Sarcoxie were both better than Lockwood. Guess that tells us how weak that part of the bracket is.
What's crazy is how much better Valle is than anyone PC, Sarcoxie, or Lockwood has seen. Sarcoxie and Pierce City both trounced Lockwood, then Thayer beats PC and Scratch by 2 scores each. The PC/Thayer game was a hard fought game with little or no penalties or turnovers and the better team won. Then Thayer hosts Valle and loses big. I listened to the first half and Valle was controlling the game. Don't know the final score, but wow! Scary good.
Well from what I had seen, Valle beat Thayer by 3 scores 33-10.
I believe it was 24-10 at half. I wouldn't necessarily call that losing big, but definitely wasn't what I would call a close one either. Still probably one of the best, if not the best game they'll get out of Class 1.
Monroe City will probably have something to say about that though.
Doubtful. 10x as many students doesn't necessarily mean there are 10x more schools. You can have as many as 2000 at a Class 6 school. You'd need 12-15 Class 1 schools for an equal number of kids.
