surely, someone knows what school had the lowest district seed that ended up advancing to the Championship game...

The current system started in 2012, that year Valle and Helias were 2 seeds, the rest were 1's.

In 2013, Rock Bridge, Parkway Central, and Marceline were 3 seeds.

In 2014, Battle was a 3.

Last year, Penney was a 3.

So to answer your question, a 3 seed is the lowest to reach a championship game, a 2 seed is the lowest to win one.

What seed was that South Shelby team to make the final in I want to say 2012? They had 5 losses.
Before the current system, Owensville had 8 losses and made it to the title game. I think it was 2006 or thereabouts.

Just for giggles, I pulled up the 2011 District points, and South Shelby would have been the 1 seed in their district if there was a point system that year:

1. South Shelby 38.39
2. Paris 31.41
3. Schuyler County 30.18
4. Louisiana 30.14
5. Scotland County 28.69
6. Knox County 28.04
7. Van-Far 26.28
8. North Shelby 12.71

So... really nevermind now.

The Dutchmen went 8-6 in 2006, losing 56-21 to Harrisonville.
Couple fun facts about that game... Harrisonville put up 49 in the first half on Owensville.
Owensville had the first ever point scored by a female in a Show-Me Bowl when Stephanie Chapman kicked a PAT.

Good thin

Good thing we let everybody in the tournament, though. Let's them Cinderella teams have a chance...to get their brains beat in 73-0 to end their miserable season. That way, we all can rest easy knowing that an 0-9 team wasn't really the best team in their Class.

Never ceases to amaze me how you football folks get riled up over a system that every friggn' team sport uses to determine a champ. Literally, EVERY FREAKING TEAM SPORT.

Not sure how to reply, cause I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

Go look at the district results for softball on mshsaa. Most every bracket in all classes has a 1 or 2 seed winning by 10 runs or more! Where is the outcry for them?

I can't believe they let all these senseless beat downs happen in softball! It's not good for either team! Not to mention, the struggling program will never be able to improve if they end each season with utter annihilation!

100% serious. Every team sport in MO HS sports decides their champion this way. Yet football people (I know, not ALL football people) are the only ones I know of that bitch and complain about it. Unreal.
The fact that any, all, none of the other sports use the same system is completely irrelevant. Whether one likes the system or not.

Please explain how it's irrelevant for one team sport to do something completely different than all the others to find a champion. I'll hang up and listen.
