LOU TO THE ZOU Movement

any word on who might be next? had a membership to powermizzou for years so I'm out of the loop on these things nowadays.

Joe Moore - DE, Cardinal Ritter 3*

Noah Arinze - DE, Webster Groves 3*

Mekhi Hagens - QB, Cardinal Ritter 3*

Those are the most likely St. Louis area prospects. I wish some of the Trinity kids would go to Mizzou, but they're all in on Illinois or power programs.

I think they are making a big mistake by going there, personally. I think Lovie will be out in a couple of years.

They gave him an extension. Unless they get a new A.D. I dont see him going anywhere for the next 3 years at the earliest.

how many conference wins does he have during his tenure, cant be more than 10.

Illinois is a beautiful campus but yea not really a good program. Michigan, ND, and Ohio State just gobble up all the midwest recruits. I would assume the kids are going there to get a chance to play eariler which is understandable. Plus the way the transfer rules are now you can always leave pretty easily if things arent working out.

In fairness he inherited a mess, but yeah he's in the weaker division. Wisconsin and Northwestern are thr good teams, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Purdue are on the come-up.

If Lovie keeps scooping up talent in St. Louis and Chicago and they give him time, Illinois could be very competitive down the road.

Took Pinkel a few years to hit his stride.

This will be his fourth year, these are his recruits his players that he recruited for his system, should see something this year.

By the 5th year it's 100% his program. No redshirt seniors from the previous regime, but yeah obviously you'd like to see improvement this year.

Its get off my lawn time. Until the last few years the only people who ever referred to St Louis as "The Lou" were people who werent from there. Perhaps its a millenial or Gen. Z thing. But ugggh. Stop it.

Next, Mizzou is already short for Missouri. Now we are so lazy we have to reduce it to one syllable "Zou". What is the next step, just the Z sound? Hey, you guys going to the Auburn-zz game Saturday? Thats all.

As twitter savvy as you are I'd figure you'd know that's the hashtag branding they've decided to use. It's aimed at 17/18 year old future stars, not 60 year old has beens.

Mizzou picked up their second recruit out of the state of Tennessee in 3* RB Elijah Young from Knoxville.

No Way you read this post and instead of contributing to the conversation this is what those dementia-ridden brain cells drum up.

Me (OP) is from St. Louis so your "the LOU" statement would not apply. Plus its an obvious slogan to attract St Louis players, which 90% of the states recruits come from, to Mizzou.

I mean just an all around awful post. When St. Louis is going through the state like bad deviled eggs this Fall its gonna be even more irrelevant post like this.

I CANT WAIT

St. Lou to Mizzou makes a hell of a lot more sense. Pffffft.

I think you should see some progress, but he took over an absolute $hit show. Dumpster fire might not do it justice. Was going to take a bit to get staff/recruiters assembled. Not likely to happen in year one. He definitely seems to be moving in the right direction. The on field product should be making strides. If not, then I think they've got a problem. Football just takes a while to turn around when it's this bad. Not nearly like basketball, where it's relatively easy to turn the roster over in a year or two.

No one rants better than Doug. He's awesome.
Dude is the absolute best. You a TMA'er? Or just from Ch 4? I've listened for close to 15 yrs now. Been on them almost since day 1. I thought the show would go to crap when Martin left. That Ask Tony segment would have me in stitches. But Doug...wow. He's a dandy.

I will stop when they take it off the Bud Select cans.

I don't catch it every day but do a lot. Doug makes the show for me. Timmy Mac just wants to talk about strippers. The Cat wants to be funny and tries hard. But Doug is a natural. Not just the rants but his one liners can make you spit your coffee. You have to pay attention to catch them all. If he's not on I usually switch over to Dan Patrick. Doug's "unplugged" segments on Ch 4 are usually good too.

I remember us talking about that before! I just love em all, really. My favorite stuff is when it gets pretty vile with Tim/Jay/Iggy/Plowsie...and Doug and Cat just start talking about some random sports something while the vile stuff is going on. Just cracks me up.
