Nobody on defense likes it when it doesn't work and nobody on offense likes it when it does. When you hit a screamer up the middle or in the hole between 1st and 2nd and some dude is there waiting for it you don't like it! When the defense is in the shift and the pitcher makes a great pitch that would normally get you out and you slap it to LF the pitcher doesn't like it. I'd say the gamble for most teams is they made you do something besides what you normally do and you probably got a single rather hit to your comfort zone and crush it over the wall.
