Trump doing it again, fires IG and goes back to the old reliable perfect call while he babbles through another press conference and the press is falling for it again.

Now vb, everything is "going beautifully" and "better than most expected". Not his fault he was distracted by impeachment trial.... and golf trips Jan 8, 19 Feb 1, 15, Mar 7-8, and campaign rallies Jan 9, 14, 24, 30, Feb 10, 19, 20, 21, 22.

Trump did put in the travel ban, much to the caterwauling of Pelosi, Biden, etc.

Meanwhile in mid March Diiblasio has people in NYC taking subways out to restaurants and bars.

Diblasio made bad decision for 12 million people, Trump made bad decisions affecting 345 million people.

No. Diblasio’s decisions affected a lot more than that. Half the cases and deaths are in the NYC metro.
I think Trump, Cuomo, Newsom and done other leaders have done pretty well. Diblasio, not so much.

You can do two things at once. Ask Nancy. She knew all along.

The real point is, Trump took actions to curb this thing and you can't find a soundbite from a Dem at that time other than to criticize Trumps actions while talking about the impeachment. Dems weren't all over this, health providers weren't sounding alarms yet and, Trump was making moves the Dems said were awful, xenophobic, racist, and draconian.

Jan 17 Diane Feinstein sends a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar about steps "should this outbreak escalate" and requests to reinstate the National Security Council directorate for pandemics which Trump had dissolved.

Jan 29 Chuck Schumer on demanding Trump declare a "public health emergency" on coronavirus so the CDC could access more funds; "Should the outbreak get worse, they're going to need immediate access to critical federal funds that at present they can't access. We aren't here to propel panic or stoke fears, but to rather keep a good proactive effort by the CDC from going on interrupted."

Jan 30 Thirty Senate Democrats sign a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar asking if "any additional action or resources by Congress are needed."

Jan 30 Donald Trump "We have it very much under control".

I know and agree, but the Trumpettes keep tooting King Carnival Barker Donnie's horn like he was all over this crisis before anyone, and the facts say otherwise. As always, he refused to listen to the experts.

Bingo!!! and funny how the media is drooling over him right now, might have saved a few more lives if he would had let De blasio do what he wanted to do . But nobody was going to show Cuomo up during this.

I will say however Cuomo seems to be on good footing now, he just was late getting on board. He was another that thought this was not that bad.

That was on later and Cuono said shelter in place was the wrong verbiage as it was a term used in case of a nuclear attack. Shelter in place does is not the same as stay at home. I’ve never been a Cuomo guy but he has had a better handle on this.

LOL Rock you are better than this, verbiage LOL, come on Cuomo wanted to be in charge, he said that later once he had to back track and do it. I linked an CNBC story in another thread were he actually says back three weeks ago only he the Governor not not a mayor had that power when De Blasio wanted to do it.

This just doesn't make sense given how against restrictions DeBlasio was in public, including his refusal to close the schools.

Well believe it. Here is a story from the 17th. Cuomo owns what is going on in New York.

“Any blanket quarantine or shelter in place policy would require state action and as the Governor has said, there is no consideration of that for any locality at this time,” DeRosa said.

Later Tuesday Cuomo called into NY1 to try and put the dispute to rest.

“There’s no such thing as a geographically isolated situation that doesn’t affect everyone else,” the governor said.

“If New York City says, ‘Well you can’t come out of your house, all that will do is cause you to stay with your cousin in Westchester,” Cuomo said, adding that he’s working on coordinating restrictions with Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut.

“There’s not going to be any quarantine,” he said.

De Blasio considers NYC lockdown as coronavirus cases jump
“There’s not going to be any, ‘You must stay in your house,’ rule,” he said, calling that “counterproductive.”

De Blasio’s press secretary Freddi Goldstein said city lawyers are reviewing an emergency declaration the mayor signed last week to determine if the governor can block the measures.

Those emergency powers include implementing a curfew, regulating vehicles and people from leaving or entering the city, closing down public transit, rationing supplies and banning people from city streets.

The San Francisco mayor and the governor of California worked together to implement the shelter-in-place system for the Bay Area that limits residents from venturing out of their homes save for food, medicine and exercise.
