Tale of two halves last year as the visiting Tigers rolled to a 20 to zip lead at halftime. PC controlled the second half, but came up short 20-19. Both teams this year are 5 and 0, and have yet to be tested. I see a close game, got to go with the visiting Eagles, 27-14. I like the way Pierce City's defense has played, and I feel their O-line has improved every game. I thought Lockwood didn't return as much as PC, but they have impressed as the season went along. Looking forward to the game at Hokahey Stadium!

This week should tell us more. Right now, Scratch looks better than either but there is a lot of football left.
Do you think PC was taking Miller for granted? They seemed to be steam rolling people until last Friday. I thought Miller played much more inspired than the previous week but PC made so many mental mistakes.

Given Miller's history against PC, I don't see the Cards being taken for granted. Ever. Too many disappointments. A lot of stupid mistakes and a lack of focus kept the game close for a half. Hope the Eagles learn from it.

Sarcoxie is scary talented, and the community is really behind the Bears.

Lockwood's schedule is a little suspect, and like someone else stated they're glad they got Liberal early. Liberal has been the best team PC has faced, so far. They kept coming at PC the entire game, and may end up playing a spoiler in districts.

Pierce City's strength is at QB and RB. The QB started as a frosh, hurt his ACL his soph year, then played lights out last year. A senior this year, he's not big, but has a cannon and good receivers. The RB is a sophomore, and is already getting letters from D1 schools. I like this team, but their lack of focus last week worries me.

Lockwood and i dont think it will be close. Line play is where they beat you

PC has some nice skill kids. Lockwood has much better line play. Special teams and turn-overs to decide it. I will go with PC by the slightest of margins, 21-20.

Goodness Scrag, you're a little Ray of sunshine.

Class 1 will be a race this year, but these horses won't be running. MoSports was once a place to discuss teams that were actually relevant to their class and playoff. Hell I'd rather debate over who the worst team in the state is compared to this nonsense - with all due respect.

Then WHY are you discussing it? There is a thread about the worst team in the state. You would fit right in on that one.

Both teams facing adversity this week it will be a battle between the Raders and the hock on the sideline... I think Lockwood walks away with it....however I think it won't matter because Sarcoxie is probably going to take the title.

Scrag go start your own thread where someone cares about your opinion.

O-zone picks were all 5 for pc. Those guys are really smart..

Never know! Could be 30-0 either way, could be 7-6 either way! Oughta be a good one though.

I know it will come down to three things. Defense, turnovers and who scores the most pts. Those schools are both good football schools and Pierce City has some good athletes. Haven't seen them play, but it is Pierce City and I have been their and done that. Lots of fun and this is what high school football is all about. I'm picking LT by seven. Why. Just because.

PC by two scores. Doesnt matter thou PC and Sarcoxie both could( I know they won't since they play) go undefended but they both lose to Thayer in Districts Imo

The problem I see is that Lockwood has five new linemen on the o-line.
I like Pierce City by 2 scores in a cleanly-played game.
That said, the Eagles have had too many turnovers for a team as seasoned as they are.
Still, I think the Eagles win because they have more depth than Lockwood.
Scrag, make sure you bleach after that shower.

I haven't seen LW play, but I have seen PC. PC has speed, size, and strength that is just hard to match at the small school level. Plus they have depth. Rader is doing a great job at LW, but I think depth and overall talent prevails in this one for PC. I say PC pulls away late in a dog fight, 27-14.

The thing I see that will favor us is how disciplined we are. They do very good job of taking care of the football and not getting penalties. With PC being prone to both lately that helps us. But having said all that PC has enough athletes to over come that against most teams. Gonna be an exciting atmosphere.

PC 32 to 7. Lockwood marched right down the field to score first, and it looked like a long night for the Eagles. The defense tightened up though and Pierce City scored 32 unanswered to win. Great fans in Lockwood.

Hopefully, one of two games against Sarcoxie. One of them will probably have to get past Thayer in districts. Fun to be a SRVC fan this year!

Yeah, I told someone I thought the SRVC was up this year quite a bit but it has been down quite a bit the last couple years. It looks like it could go up another notch next year too. Everyone has seniors (Miller even has 2) but it looks like the teams i've seen so far have a decent nucleus back.
