Lincoln Prep (7-1) 0-1 vs MSHSAA Glossary

Subvarsity doesn't mean JV only. It means anything below Varsity level. This includes JV, Freshmen, Freshmen A Team, Freshmen B Team, C Team and Sophomore Team. I don't believe I've missed any variation unless some large private school has 3 Freshmen teams in a sport.

I'm a little surprised (or maybe have a hard time believing) that a Head Coach and an AD don't know the rules and wouldn't know the kid couldn't play Varsity football (I don't care that they are both 1st timers in the position, it's their job to know). Why would they tell them he can't start but he can be a Sub, that makes no sense. Hard to buy that explanation.

That being said, as always, MSHSAA sucks at their job and could have been more detailed in their response so there is no misunderstanding. And honestly there is no consistency with these decisions, let the kids play.

I've tried to confirm this before and didn't get an answer. But this a different situation than what happened at St. Pius Fenton for example, correct?

From what I can tell yes. St. Pius Festus was playing to many quarters. This looks like this kid was ruled eligible for JV games only and the coach still played him in Varsity Games.

Prior to reading the email I wasn’t sure a coach or AD could mistake “sub-varsity” for being a substitute on varsity.

Imagine the audacity of penning that claptrap, chalk full of inane errors in grammar and syntax, and sending it to an administrator..

Not to say anything of the notion of taking to social media to post the drivel publicly

WhIle, of course, taking special care to leave the kids name in the subject line.

Hilarious

This whole situation might be the dumbest attempted coverup I've ever heard. The explanation doesn't pass the B.S. test.

It is most likely just MSHSAA being slow. We don't actually know how long ago Grandview was notified of their forfeits so we don't know how long MSHSAA takes.

They self reported so i dont know how you could appeal something you brought up yourself.

Will they forfeit all of their games? If so, will they be a 6 or 7 seed behind Southeast or Center or both?

They will be 3-5 I think. I think they will be 5th. This is assuming they forfeit their first 5 gsmes.

Winner going down to Nevada (regardless what happens vs. unbeaten and favored Seneca) could be a real, real interesting one.
Pretty much locked in that the winner of CJ Harrisonville will be in the district title game. I don't think Grandview could make up 5 points even if they won.

From what I saw last Friday night their only chance is get a big lead early and hold Smithville off. Very, very doubtful even given they do have good RBs, a serviceable QB and a big athletic O Line. Depth is the ongoing issue there.
