How many of you are lifting during the season? If you are, how many times a week and for how long? I am looking for some advice. All input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

I can tell you a lot of successful coaches in the seventies and eighties did, but not the extremely heavy stuff. Mostly toe raises on an elevation, partial squats, and some bench presses.

You would have to have input from schools with really good weight rooms, which I never had. No doubt they have an advantage.

I have no doubt that the stronger kids have an advantage, so lifting is essential for today's kids, who don't do a lot of physical labors like kids used to.

should be 2-3 times a week, and nothing really heavy. should be concentrating on maintaining and injury prevention.

Get you some 2.5 lb and 5 lb dumbbells and do a ton of reps. Also, ankle weights during an aerobic workout. Don't want to get too bulky. Will mess your shot up.:D

That and do a lot of finger tip push ups for arm, hand, and wrist strength. Some guys do 500 a day.
