After a bit of research This Bill is just pure Political BS and Democratic Manipulation .....
Lets see what Susan Wilder Dem PA said "We aren't Putting the Burden On BIG PHARM, and I don't blame Insurers for being upset about that" After talking at length with insurers she agreed the Big Flaw in the bill was that it didn't lower insulin prices but who pays for the Insulin.
Even the CBO ...Congressional Budget Office ...says the measure would cost the Federal Gov. 6 billion and force insurers to raise premiums.
So if this Bill isn't about making Big Pharm charge a fair price what is it about? And why are the Dem's ok with with Big Pharm skating away free and still making Bank by overcharging for insulin...and OK with the Consumer picking up the Tab when the Cost are shifted to the Insurers and the Insurers then shift to to the Consumers? Sure on the Front end the Consumer will pay 35$...and the Insurance Co. will take a loss...but on the back end the Insurance Co. will raise premiums and rates to cover that loss. So in the End the Consumer will end up paying the same price if not more.
Maybe the Answer Lies (pun intended) with what Angie Craig Dem Minn said" If my Republican Colleagues don't support it, I hope my voters back home see right through that"...Democrats say those who don't support it will Pay a Political price come November!!!

The question you need to ask is why it's so expensive when it costs very little to make?
We are being fleeced by the rich.
Thats simple. Items like insulin deliver companies the capitol to be doing R&D work into drugs to fight other terrible diseases. Drug companies spend billions of dollars trying to find the next big cure (most of the terribly high priced insulin drugs are new modern variants not good old plain human insulin.)
If you are so outraged about the cost of insulin get you a dozen investors and start manufacturing it and selling it at cost. People love to bitch about otherpeople............JUST GO DO IT

The product was “developed” over 100 years ago and costs $2-$6 to make. Keeping your prices at a 500 percent markup seems reasonable. There should simply be a price limit set. Dems and repubs both suck on this topic. Repubs just suck more.

No Over Lord told me that Developing a Product and making a profit off that product at what ever rate the people who developed that Product deem appropriate is the correct course of action. yea it appears the bill does nothing to actually cap the price that providers are allowed to charge for insulin, it just caps the maximum out of pocket expenses for patients and slides the cost to the insurance companies, who will in turn raise premiums for all customers across the board to maintain a decent profit at the end of the year
