I have seen neither of these teams play this season but it seems that Lexington has a stout defense. Lexington managed to shut out a high scoring Wellington-Napoleon team, who appears to be headed to a conference title. My concern with Lexington is that they let Holden hang around while Higginsville put Holden away. Also, Higginsville took care of a respectable Trenton team, while Lexington hung on for a one point victory. Both teams took care of business against Knob Noster. I would like to pick Lexington as the winner but Im going to say Higginsville 35 Lexington 32, but I think Lexington has a real chance at winning if they get a few lucky breaks. Thoughts?

This won't even be close. It was the same argument last year and higg won 40-0.. I think lex is improved, and higg may be down a little on the line of scrimmage... But lex doesn't have any where near the athletes.. Higg 35-7

Actually, Higginsville won 43-0 last year. Also, Lexington came into that game 6-1 not 7-0. Lexington has improved a lot since last year. Do they have enough to beat Higginsville? I don't think so, but a few lucky breaks, then maybe.....

Good article! I completely agree with what he says in Class, 1, 2, and 3. It really does feel like the whole community is behind the football. Small town, Missouri football is something really special. That Trenton game might be a bad sign though. It was 20-0 at half and the final was 20-19, while Higginsville won 43-15....

Higginsville vs Trenton was 19-13 at half.

That further proves my point. The final score was 45-13.......

20-0 at half... 19-13 at half... Nobody has seen either of these games so it's all wild speculation on what happened. For the final scores to be that much different from the half time score, something drastic had to have happened for those teams. Best player was hurt, a bunch of turnovers, who knows.

The best indicator of who will win is the fact that these two teams have already played each other during the summer at the Hut-Hut camp. Did anyone see that? Or are we all just pulling numbers out of our bum based on comparative scores of games we never saw.

Most likely that lol. But turn overs, injuries, whatever, Higginsville still finished 45-13. Higginsville shut Trenton out the second half, while Lexington was the one shut out. Nothing against Lexington, I hope they win this, but I would read that as a bad sign. Look at the Holden games. Lexington 12-7, Higginsville 61-28 and that's against 1-6 Holden. I really wish there were more MRVC posters here, people who might have seen some of these games. I only make it to Odessa games.

HUGE win for Lexington and certainly one I really didn't see coming BUT that is what makes HSFB such a great sport. Next week will be very interesting to see if the Minutemen have a letdown vs. a very inconsistent but capable Richmond.

I stand corrected.. I'm not as surprised that Lexington scored (hard to stop them if you aren't good up front) as i am that higginsville didn't.. Heard that higgs QB got hurt. That true?

He didn't seem hurt, but threw a couple of interceptions that Lexington converted to points.
