The football player in me says suit up for the team and the ring but I don’t blame him. Unpopular opinion alert: they deserve more money. We all watch the games, the ad money comes in and the owners pocket most of it. I understand it I own a business. But The players need by far the majority of the money since they are the product we watch and especially for what they put their bodies through
The owners feelings on this matters as well. They might pay a player however much guaranteed, and the player may get hurt and never be the same. Or miss multiple games in each season. Whatever situation you may think of. Football is more likely to result in poor deals for owners than baseball or basketball. Careers are a lot shorter as well. And seasons.
The commish makes 44 million. The owners print money. Bell will get paid.
He isn’t under contract with the Steelers he can stay at home as long as he wants. It hurt his case when his replacement is performing at an all-pro level for a third the money. There are 100 other good running backs lined up ready and willing to carry a football for a lot less money. Let him ride his jet ski until he runs out of gas money
I think it was a very poor move. He passed up as much money this year (14m) that equals his career earnings (14m) only to be replaced by a guy making 700k out perform him. The trends in drafts value rb pretty low and this is a prime example. They have a small shelf life and they are replaceable. Anyone who has played fantasy fb knows this ....ware goes down .....hunt leads the league in rushing....dalvin cook goes down.,.murry out performs him etc ...it happens often
If you have a good offensive line ...your rb will get his no matter who it is....Bell is a stud at least catching balls but he learned the hard way that he can be replaced easily

Connor is balling out and is a solid player but he is not at the level of Bell. Bell consistently makes more plays when there is nothing to be had on the play, that’s why he is so special. I agree that he messed up I think he should have came in and performed in the playoffs to get a big check next year. But again I do not blame him at all. Fans should back the players a lot more
Bell is overrated. Connor is proving that. Not that Connor is better? But that line is and offensive scheme is that well designed. Not to mention Connor has better TD numbers and yards in a season than Bell.

He deserves nothing more than what he agrees to play for. - RB's are not that big of a deal in today's NFL. O. Line makes or breaks them.
I figured bell would come back then “get injured” and collect checks till the games mattered. Plus i wanted to see his oline pull a longest yard on him
