Leopold avenges Woodland Invitational Tournament title after three years

No. 2 Leopold upset top-seeded Advance, the defending Woodland Invitational Tournament champions, in two straight sets 25-20, 25-14 for the title.

Format for this year's tournament was changed to guarantee more games to all teams. In years past, coaches met to seed the teams and then were placed into a double-elimination bracket. This year, teams were seeded and placed into two pools with the top four-seeded teams playing in one pool and the four lower-seeded teams playing in the other pool.

Leopold had won the tournament for six consecutive years prior to its 2010-2011 loss to Zalma. Advance then took the title last season.
