The Legion of Mizzou Football fans and others associated with the boycott of Missouri football stemming from the football team’s support of a set of demands published by the “Concerned Student 1-9-5-0” group, have published a list of demands they want met before supporting Mizzou Football again:
Here’s the list in its entirety:
1. We demand that University of Missouri football coach, Gary Pinkel, writes a hand-written apology to Tim Wolfe and the Legion of Mizzou Football fans, and holds a press conference in the Mizzou Student Center reading the letter. In the letter and at the press conference, Gary Pinkel must acknowledge his ignorance, and provide a verbal commitment to fulfilling The Legion of Mizzou Football Fan’s demands. We want Gary Pinkel to admit his gross negligence in allowing himself to be a mindless lemming in going along with the protesters on his football team, and with supporting the “Concerned Student 1-9-5-0” group. And to further admit that his main goal going along with the protesters was to preserve the $1M in revenue the school stood to lose should he have chosen to do the right thing by suspending the team members that missed practice.
2. We demand that each member of the football team that decided to not practice (joining the protest,) to write a hand-written letter of apology in crayon (the color of their choice) acknowledging their privilege they have to (1) be on the MU football team, and (2) to receive scholarship funds for being on the team. The letter will also include an apology to all the members of the team they abandoned by joining the group.
3. We demand that by the academic year 2017-18, the University of Missouri increases the percentage of funding for football by 10 percent (preferably to be spent on recruiting) because of the damage this situation has caused to the school’s reputation.
4. We demand that the University of Missouri and Gary Pinkel (should he be retained in the coming year) compose a strategic 10-year plan on May, 1 2016 that will increase MU’s chances of being a top ten rated team at least five of the next ten years.
