I don't know a thing about Lebanon other than their win/loss record and schedule.

Looks like they won four in a row to start the season, then stubbed their toes in back-to-back games at West Plains and at Camdenton, then won out.

They had a common opponent with Carthage in Parkview. Lebanon won 70-50 in Spgfld while Carthage won last week 65-16.

What does the eye test say about Lebanon for those that have seen them play?

Defense will be their undoing.

Well in my no-football skill opinion.....If Parkview put 50 on Lebanon and Carthage held them to 16, then Carthage will be dominant on defense and Carthage will keep control of the ball. Carthage will put 50 on Lebanon in the first half. When your score is 70-50, your still in the game. When your 65-16, your pulling out starters for a good part of the game. There really is no comparison to be made in these teams or the scores that is in any way favorable to Lebanon. Injuries might turn this game to their favor.

There were only 2 good teams in the Ozark Conference this year (West Plains and Camdenton), and Lebanon lost to both. The remainder of the teams ranged from beyond abysmal (Central) to really, really bad (Hillcrest, Waynesville, Kickapoo) to bad (Glendale) to mediocre at best (Rolla, Parkview) to a little above average (Lebanon).

Lebanon stands no chance whatsoever against Carthage. Carthage wins by as much as they feel like winning.

Leb will have to have a lot of help; calls their way, momentum, every 50/50 ball in the air, etc for them to win this one....even then I think its tough...OC was down A LOT this year.

I posted this in another thread.
I think Lebanon would have gone 6-3 in the COC, losing to WC, Carthage, and Joplin but beating every one. They have a nice football team but Carthage is top dog for a reason. Lebanon runs the same offense as Ozark and is run heavy. They are big and physical but not overly quick. Carthage's speed will be a big advantage. I'll take Carthage by a few TDs.

We won’t really know but my gut feeling is that Neosho and possibly Carl
Junction could have beat Lebanon but in the COC there was a clear difference between the top 3 and the rest of the league so who knows.

As for Lebanon-Carthage if Carthage has any success running early then they will get to 50 pretty quickly. They are very good up front and their QB is a load to tackle.

Having seen both I think that Lebanon is a little bit better than Neosho and quite a bit ahead of Carl Junction.

Not sure about CJ but don’t sell Neosho short. Wildcats were not an offensive juggernaut but only WC and Carthage (who kinda are) really gouged Neosho’s defense. Neosho held Joplin scoreless in the first half and 7 points through the 3rd quarter. The same Jopln team that scored 322 points over their next 6 games including 49 and the running clock on Kirkwood.
I think Neosho’s defense would give them a better than fair chance against the Yellowjackets. However, Neosho’s inability to consistently put points on the board opens the door for a Lebanon victory in this mythical match.

I agree with the asessment that Lebanon might compare to Neosho. So if a lot of things happen to go their way they might stay in it but otherwise I am more or less thinking Carthage will run away. Maybe something like 41-14 or 21.

On paper these teams look fairly similar but I think there is more to the story. We'll see how Lebanon stacks up to Carthage and how Camdenton handles Webb City soon enough.

I wouldn't say its the same offense as Ozark. Ozark is pretty basic with the flexbone. Lebanon will be a little more advanced in their offensive scheme, blocking schemes specifically. Lebanon will try to slow the game down and control the ball, but they won't be able to match up athletically with Carthage. I agree that Lebanon would have went 6-3 in the COC maybe 5-4 Neosho and Lebanon would have been an interesting matchup.

Will this game be webcast anywhere?
KDMO usually has a video feed of all the Carthage games, although there was an issue with the video last week and it was only audio. It's decent quality except that sometimes they forget to pan the camera with the action and a big play will happen out of the frame!
