These are the top 30 schools that do not offer football and don't have soccer programs. I removed schools with soccer because schools of this size typically would struggle with # and are rarely competitive in both.

Ill do an 8-man version as well so some schools may be on both.

McDonald County (Anderson) also didn't have soccer at the time. They would start a program about 5-10 years later. Therefore; Neosho, Carthage and Webb City would play one another 2-3 times per season just to full their schedules

It was one of probably half a dozen or more reasons. Other reasons being the widening enrollment gap between the largest and smallest schools in the conference. Carthage and Nevada had similar enrollment when the conference dissolved and now Carthage has more than twice the enrollment of Nevada. This was also during the district round robin era so Carthage, Webb City, Neosho and McDonald County were tasked with finding 6 nonconference games in the 7 nondistrict weeks. Webb City ended up playing only 9 games a few times and would end up playing schools like Memphis Ridgeway, Columbia Rock Bridge, Pittsburg, Westport, Bentonville [High School], Saint Charles West. Carthage ended up playing the likes of Kansas City Northeast, Paseo Academy of Performing Arts, Oklahoma Centennial, Imagine Prep, Cleveland NJROTC, Chanute, Stockton. McDonald County and Neosho generally had better luck finding out of conference games.

Many years ago, I told the current superintendent of Laquey at that time that his soccer field behind the school would look good with goal posts. He shook his head and told me I'm just as bad as one board member that kept bringing that up. Would be nice if all those boys in south-central MO had the opportunity. But too many on this board already declare that if you can't go 11-man, you need to stick to soccer or fall baseball. This is why Missouri will never be a Texas or any other true football state.

They would eventually be a Class 2-3 force if they had football. Nobody realizes this, but Fatima and Blair Oaks have the exact same demographic of kids. Lots of huge (and very athletic) families that go to either Helias or Fatima/Blair Oaks. Them not having football in favor of soccer has always befuddled me.
