Lamar's first test proved to be less that expected. Lamar still hasn't given away any points on defense and although the score wasn't what was expected, it is tough to put up larger numbers with a turbo clock 2nd half and playing JV/Freshmen the entire 4th quarter.
Was definitely a game to test the water as Aurora has played a tough schedule in having Mountain Grove to kick off the season followed up by Mountain View Liberty. Looking forward to next week against Monett. Big shout out to Luke Hardman and our prayers that you heal quickly. Year is going by to fast.

So Froto, what do you think is huge numbers? Lamar won 50-0. What were you expecting? Is 50-0 not good enough for you?

Being in St. Louis area thought Lutheran North might compete with Lamar went
and watched them great skill lineman horrible coaching horrible. Trinity is loaded
with talent for a class 2 school they can't give Lamar a game because of coaching.
They are avg.50 points a game but do it all with talent and NO coaching ,play a team
Like Lamar their coaching will take over. Wish they had a coach like Lutheran St.
Charles coach he played for the Rams and you talk about discipline his teams not
as talented but they play to their strengths .Lamar will win another title with no
problem. They will kill Valle , they might play the worse schedule in the state. Hard
to say how good Valle is that conference is very poor.

I figured someone would get upset over what I said, however it has more to do with gauging future teams than trying to just put silly numbers on the board. Based on Mountain Grove and Mountain View/Liberty's games, it was my feeling that we would need to hold them to no points and put 60+ on them. This would ease my feelings for where to bring the current #1 and #3 teams into perspective. However, putting 50 on them with no starters on the field in the 4th period accomplished the same and I now have a good perspective of what our competition will bring. In the past the Big 8 conference was what made Lamar who they are, and they prepared us for later games. Unfortunately we have a number of Big 8 teams rebuilding and some of our threats are from other areas of the state. So not simply trying to put ridiculous numbers on teams to humiliate them, but rather using it as a reference. JMO but it works for me.

Lamar could of scored 80 if they wanted no reason to. Playing weak schedule is
really not a benefit for anybody. Valle great example their starters get one half of football
every conf. game every year. Then you got to gear it up vs Lamar very hard to do because
you could do anything against such poor teams and be successful now you can't.

Yeah, we see how that has worked out for them the last decade.

Not that I think that Monett won't challenge Lamar but I think Lamar will win fairly handily in the end and I'm really looking forward to the Valle game though I think Lamar will be the best team Valle has faced in many years.

When it all shakes out though I think the Lamar-Mt View-Liberty game is going to be the game for Lamar this year. More so than Valle.

Monett and Lamar will be a close game. Monett will be a little bigger, with Branch a powerful runner that is tough to bring down. Their QB, Meyer I believe is his name, has a good arm and he has a good target to throw to in Parra-Navarro. They always have a swarming defense, with excellent speed. These two teams have had some real tough battles over the past few years. As for Lamar, they are going to line up and run the ball. And then they will run some more. Hardman, with his speed, will be hard to replace but, I think the loss will hurt more on the defensive side. He usually can neutralize the opponents top receiver, and force the other team to look elsewhere. But, as with all good teams, the "next man up" will step in and do the job. It should be a very good game with the winner having a leg up for the conference championship.

What was the final verdict on Hardman? Heard he could miss some time.
