Someone forgot to tell Lamar they are not playing EN this week. Very flat and sloppy. Aurora came to play and looks good.

Aurora very impressive, Lamar very sloppy. Lamar had 3 holding calls that were 20+yard swings. All 3 were drive killers that ended in punts. Ball hit the turf multiple times on the snap.

Will be a long week of practice for Lamar players this week. If you hadn't watched the game and only listened to the post game radio interview with Coach Bailey you would of thought Lamar lost the game.
These are the games that light the fire back. They're kids, and this momentum has been going for a long time, it would be silly to believe they wouldn't get a little complacent from time to time. I agree that practices will probably be a little more intense and game prep will be stricter. I would like to throw Aurora a bone, in that this team did a better job of staying home and pursuing the ball, than any Aurora team I have watched in the past. This new coach will do very well if he builds on this and gets talent willing to buy in. I would also like to point out that although the end justifies the means, the officiating was the worst I have ever witnessed. I believe it was sorry enough that the game film should be watched and reprimands should be handed out. Not saying to all 4 of the officials, however the tall slender official knows he degraded his position and reflected poorly on officiating as a whole. However, you're in good company as most of America has poor ethics, morals and values these days.
Froto was it worse than the crew in 2010 that threw back to back pis to hand them the win?
Had it been a closer game, and they were capable of capitalizing on the penalty it could have been. I will be evaluating Hudl to give an educated response, however the PI calls seemed to be BS and there were two holding the receiver calls that our players clearly and definitively had their arms fully extended away from the receiver to ensure they would not draw a hold. I could and would be partial, so until I watch the game in slow mo, I cannot state that I am not mistaken. However, in my defense we had double digit penalties and they had 2. It amazes me how the losing team is always the most disciplined. LOL
This Lamar team is totally different from the previous teams. This team relies on ball control with an occasional big play. Gone are the explosive running backs that were capable of breaking the long run on every play. This team is more of a four yards and a cloud of dust type team. They rely on the long 14-16 play drives, taking time off the clock, keeping the ball away from the other teams offense. In years past, a holding penalty was no big deal because they were capable of getting big chunks of yardage on each play. Mistakes like that are harder to overcome this year. Lamar is still very good but, defense will be relied on more than in years past
You need to work on your trolling skills. We are almost mid season you should be a little more crisp and start bringing out the more advanced plays.

I really enjoyed this game. The kids from Aurora were fired up and really played hard. It was a great game in to the 4th. One of those games that will make both teams better. And man does Lamar travel well. I've seen some Class 5 schools that didn't send that many to away games!
Aurora looks very good. Your son and the rest of that staff have done a great job.

You could work on that and not project your issues onto everyone else.
You left out another big issue in this country: people who play the victim all the time. You know ... like you are doing right now. It's time to man up, correct mistakes, and the penalty calls will decrease. Or you could go online and whine about it like a child. The choice is yours. America is depending on you.

I watched the tape and I don't think the officiating was that bad over all. A couple of the holding calls were a little petty, every down holding type stuff. Mid way through the 3rd they called a catch and PI on the same play and neither appeared to happen. Both officials kind of looked at each other confused and one decided to call it a catch. There was another catch on the side line in the 4th that was pretty questionable, Bailey thought so as well based on his reaction. They could have called more or less on both teams but not bad over all. The only play I really had any problem with was late in the 4th an Aurora defender put a hard helmet to helmet on an o lineman right in front of the white hat and there was no call. The o lineman laid on the turf for a little bit before getting up under his own power. I didn't notice it during the game but a little scary on tape.
