First off, do the Huskers prefer Lafayette County or Higginsville? I think the Indians prefer Clark County.

What can be expected from each? I know Clark started out slow (Monroe City, Centralia and Palmyra had a lot to do with that), but really turned it on after their close tilt with Macon. Nothing really new with them, they are still hard hittin corn fed country boys, but have shown the ability to throw it around a little. They are a young team and really have arrived a year early.

Weather is always a factor in Kahoka, and this Saturday looks no different. High temp is expected to be around 44 with a 50% chance of showers and the usual 18 mph winds.

I've been on the Indian bandwagon since the Macon game, but did say here earlier on that this round could be their exit. I expect it to be a good game.

After seeing Holden play with Lafayette County till the 3rd Quater. I think Clark County reaches state.

Saw the huskers play, if they can handle the qb and cover their receivers then I would say they have a shot.

Agreed. But if a lot of teams they've played could cover their receivers and handle the qb, they would have won. The QB is going to be a handful. I would bet the most mobile QB and the best passer, both, that Clark County has seen all year.
How big is Clark County up front on D? Higginsville has good size across the board, for what that's worth.

No doubt this will be the most accomplished passing team Clark has seen. Not sure how those skills translate to a cold, potentially rainy and definitely windy day. If you've never been to Kahoka, it's always a high wind field. They do have a new stadium, so not sure on orientation now.

Here's the latest KHQA story on the defense that has a few highlights.

No, have never been to Kahoka. I believe you that it could be a miserable weather place. I consider Maryville the same way. Might as well be in Montana, wind and weather-wise. Would like to go to this one, along with about 3 or 4 others. But I want to see the Class 6 game, and also Webb-PC game, so headed that way. I consider that to basically be the Class 4 title game, as the Lamar-LN game to be the same in Class 2. Not taking anything away from the other teams, just my opinion and hunch.

Agree. Class 1, 3 and 6 should have good championship games with some doubt as to the outcome.

Lafayette County runs the ball well and not just their QB. They appear to be comfortable going solely to the running game when need be. They didn't throw a pass on any of their three 2nd half TD drives last week.

I like Clark’s chances if they play like they have been. They are very opportunistic and super physical. Coach Alan and Plenge have the team believing and it is in Kahoka....automatic touchdown advantage. I know Coach Cook will have his team ready, should be a VERY good game!! Clark has excellent size and athleticism and can match up with most schools in class 2!!

Heard that the Lafayette County coaches complained to MSHSAA about Clark's new scoreboard, that it gave too much of a home field advantage. Seems pretty petty to me...anyone else heard of this?

Good question...I know Clark has a huge new HD LCD scoreboard and supposedly the videos they play on that scoreboard is a problem for Lafayette County...sounded like they were only going to be able to use the basic scoreboard with the video screen turned off.

Next level scouting right here.

Only thing I could see is if the video board is in the background at eye level which doesn't make sense, or if the sound level is too high which makes a lot more sense. I know Blair Oaks can get loud. Not loud enough to complain about mind you.

Did they petition MSHSAA about what mother nature is going to do as well? That's going to have a much larger impact on this game compared to anything man made.

I was in Harrisonville last Friday night and Clark's board is no different except that it's on the NE corner, if I knew how to post a pic I'd put one of it up...I'm making the drive up for this game and I'm surely not looking forward to the weather.

Updated weather forecast - High of 46 with an 80% chance of rain and 22mph winds out of the Northwest.

The Husker's QB, Kinzer Madison, is a stud! He can run and throw equally well and is big, strong, athletic, and tough as hell.

He can take over a game. I think he is one of the best QB's in the state and will be a very good college QB for somebody.

Higginsville was flat and sloppy last week and did not play well in the first half... but they beat a very good Lexington team by 30 in the game I watch them play earlier this year.

Higginsville is very, very good...make no mistake about it. I pick them to win and advance to The Show Me Bowl.

I would lean towards them as well if it was on a calm day. Since it probably won't be, I'm now leaning towards Clark and that strong, opportunistic D. I only wish it was available online to either listen to or view. Should be a great game.

week 6 was 49-6

You love that regular season don’t ya?

It’s once again like the last argument we had more telling in the playoffs than in the regular season. It was too close for too long. Holden had no bussiness playing with County into the 3rd quarter. I watched it. They looked really bad.

Trust me, I know they had no business. I was rooting for the upset. If Holden would have held on, I'd have been in Holden partying with the Holdenites, trying to carry Coach Hedrick on our shoulders...

But I also know Coach Cook is a good coach, with a very good team that has a knack for over looking teams. (Carrollton week 9, Holden week 13). I also know that QB/FS Madison, RB/LB Thirkield, TE/DE Looney, OG/DT Mason, and OT/DE McCoy all step up and take care of business when they have to. They aren't good enough to beat Lamar/Lutheran North, but they are good enough to beat Clark County by 4 TD's (I picked CC by 13). With the predicted weather, it plays in to CC's hands, but to my original point, the only thing exposed by Week 13 was that LC is more than capable of playing down to the level of competition, especially if it's someone they have already by 43 points.

Ok I get ya. But playing down to competition or not, it’s still at the end of a day a indicator as far as I’m concerned. Are you from that area I’m assumimg?
