Kirkwood at Joplin.... Who ya got?

Well I said after the Carthage game that I thought Joplin wins out until Kirkwood though right now I think Joplin has a good shot at winning.
Joplin by 70. Saw Kirkwood against Ladue and looked VERY mediocre and terribly inconsistent. Joplin runs away with it.
I don’t buy that but Ladue did beat Kirkwood by a couple TDs a few weeks ago. I think that speaks more to how good Ladue may be. Ladue is likely the best team in St Louis not named CBC.
ladue is a very good team are they not? I think kirk has some momentum and joplin will be tested.
Ladue is not very good. Soft on the run up the middle, aren’t mentally in the game every down. Quite overrated. Kirkwood didn’t look great, at all. Joplin runs all over a Kirkwood.
You said Kirkwood was soft last year and they made it to the title game and went toe to toe with WC for 4 quarters. There is no such thing as a 11-0 team that beats a Class 6 quarterfinalist that isn't good.
Don't get me wrong I like Joplin's chances but this is probably the best Joplin team in about 30 years. Kirkwood will be a very good test.
I think it would be great for Joplin to make it to the final 4. I think they have a great chance and have a couple of games that I am sure have prepared them for the contest.
The link is to Ladue's 2018 highlight video. Highlight videos can make an 0-9 team look decent but Ladue looks pretty salty to me. Good size on the lines and fast and athletic at the skill positions. The one chink I see is that it appears several players line up on both sides of the ball.
I may be in the minority but I think Joplin sneeks by Kirkwood. That being said ....I haven't seen Kirkwood play ....I'm basing this off of comparative scoring which is a very slippery slope
IF Joplin should beat Kirkwood, then #1 CBC would have to travel to Joplin.
Nobody would pick Joplin to beat both Kirkwood and CBC, but what a sweet path to the state championship game to play at home the entire post-season (until the 'ship).
Not bad for a team that hasn't played in week 12 since 1984.

wow...I was wondering if Joplin won who would host. I dont see joplin winning that game but the joplin kids wont back down from a challenge.

I will be rooting for Kirkwood, but I think Joplin wins this game. Kirkwood has been very inconsistent this year. Joplin seems to be a very solid squad whose only losses to top teams in Class 4 and 5. Depends on how Joplin handles Kirkwoods athletes, but I think the line play of Joplin will be the difference.
Joplin isn't dog meat, but, they are literally "the best of the rest" in the COC.
I think the game against Kirkwood will be very competitive - but I give the Pioneers the edge.
